well for a prize...

I am willing to donate the Felix's Gaming Pages Award for the overall winner courtesy of Felix's Gaming Pages

The prize is a rare (and now OOP) Snapdragon Studio 6mm castle (suitable for Epic (and Warmaster - which could entice some Warmaster players to enter (with Epic miniatures of course))).

of course you could do your own prize

Thankyou very much Jimbo, that is very generous and I am delighted to accept your offer.  That would be a great addition to any gaming table.

Does anyone else have anyhting they would like to donate?

Cool prize, would make a cool objective.

Right, I get the procedure now. Our Gallery is run by Chris, if you could PM him and get acceptance from him, then I can handle the technical side of the task.

I am however still confused as to the techical side of the task. How is it all going to mesh together... can someone give me an idiots guide over MSN Messenger? Or email me at webmaster@netepic.org.  :l

As I understand it (and feel free to correct me)...

If a person wants to enter they need to do two things. Firstly, get their picture online using the Gallery space. Are we only going to accept entries stored here, or is this going to be a place for people with no other space?

Secondly, post a thread in the relevant forum, one for each category, with a picture of the entry (in line, not just a link). This needs to be done to submit the entry, and ensures that entrants are members of these boards.

All this needs to be done before the close.

As for prizes, let me have a look around. I am sure that I can find a few things, or suggest things that I can buy for the winner, to add to the pot.

Aside from prizes, the only other issue is the voting. Tom, are you able to set up the Battlestats program which can be altered for this purpose? If so, the only thing is how to prevent a person voting many times.

Tas, if you PM me the rules, we can check these and add them to the forum. I will make you the Mod of the forum, and you can add them, stickify them, etc.

I guess that there really is not much technical stuff to be done. Can we post a link from the Gallery to these boards? And can you sort out the voting?

Its all sounding superb, but I came up with another technical question- for each entry, will you be able to have multiple pictures from different angles, to show off extra detail, banners, etc...?  ???

This is a good question. I have seen some that had a "one jpg" limit. Others seemed to be less restrictive.

Hi!

I'd say 4. A front, back, side and ONE close up shot of some detail you want to showcase.

2 things:

1)I currently have a business account for my company's sites which has space to spare. If there's another option it would probably be prefferable, but if space is limited, I could temporarily host any pictures if they're of a decent size (ie within the pre-set parameters.

2)What was the final decision on entering miniatures which have alredy been shown online? I've just finished work on my Logan Grimnar model and am desperate to show it off, but if it means its not aplicable for the competition, I'll hold it back.

I thought it was desided not to have that as a rule.

I know I do not mind the idea of someone having shared their work with us still entering it.

I do think there was a "year old" limit so we could call it the 2003 contest though.

The concensus was in the end that

a) The entry had to have been completed in the last year, OR

b) has not previously been seen/phoitographed before. Thus you can photograph and enter stuff from your group that hasnt been published before.  This then fullfills the objective of getting pics of people's stuff!

So Tuff, you can post your newest creation here and it will be a valid comp entry too! :;):

Re: Prizes.

I can't ask anyone to do what I am unwilling to do myself...

Thus I will donate an unassembled beetleback Titan to the prize pool.

It appears that Fanatic will listen to even me!  :p

I received a reply from Mr Johnson this morning, and I hope that he does not mind if I quote him here in this open forum:

"Sponsorship and prizes for things like this are usually dealt with the the national sales teams rather than the Studios, but I should be able to provide an advance sample of some of the new Rhino and Land Raider models we're working on for the winner."

"I'll leave the ball in your court on this for the moment. Get back to me with any URLS you'd like us to link to once you have them ready."

Wow, this is very cool, and he has agreed to provide links when this is set up. I am sure that this will go a long way to encouraging people to enter. I have yet to go through my stuff to contribute to the proze fund, but I am sure that I can come up with a few unopened blisters (although the cardboard backing may not be in the best condition), and I can certainly donate at least one of those damn Eldar Command blisters - why did I get so many?
