Actualy, that's all the better for me as I _might_ have some cash to spare then.

And the rules?  Need any proofreaders and/or stupid ideas & comments? :;):

I would certainly be willing to lend my proofreading skills, as well.

Hi Doug,

There's some discussion of your miniatures here that I would like you to be aware of so that you can respond to it:

http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=68700

I'm thinking a few words from you could greatly help the conversation along.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Hi

Thanks for the heads up on the TMP, I have seen the comments and know thats its hard on both sides of the coin.

No one does the work to knock up a range as it really is expensive, hence the lack of variety and then at the same time you need to ensure that the public have the product at a reasonable price.  The decision arent easy and its really hard to get right.

I looked at the points mentioned and some are really good and some are mentioned purely because of cautious shopping and for me thats really good.  However I cant do things that ensure that you have a represntative in various places, cheap, high quality miniatures and release new miniatures all at the same time. You need an established company for that with a decent financial backing.

I really appreciate the backing I have here and I will try my best to ensure that this project really kicks in and brings a bit of happiness into the 6mm range....  I can only try  :)

Thanks again Maksim for those words you have up on the thread

Doug

Actually there is a Paypal account ready.

I think that was the best way to accept payment from Europe as a whole no matter the currency, because other ways like Visa/Mastercard was too expensive for a company that has only just begun as a service on its own.  I do know that the DRM account should accept visa type payments via Paypal.

Hi!

Interesting thread. The only arbiter of price is what Doug beleives that is financially prudent. I have retailed for years and the equation is simple...

cost of production + markup = price

Doug has control on the markup, but not cost. The question is how worthwhile will reducing the markup be in relations to selling it.

Gamers are stingy Cads (I'm one of them), so take anything on the web with a grain of salt.

Of course another tactic is to start pricing low then increase as demand, availability and resources allow.

I'm really surprised at the amount of "el cheapos" out there. Maybe I'm just too rich but, to me, DRM prices are far from expensive (i.e. GW...   ).

Judging from the pics most of the competitors mentioned are not of as good quality and especially DRM vehicles are a far cry from the ubiquitous hovercraft tanks.  :/ (No offense to Slammers meant, L4   :;):  )

I just looked at the reply for a company I wanted to hear about regarding success.

I should have know better that to ask a vague question

I got Irregular and Heroics, both have limited sci fi but high on historical.  So not very good examples and I made that a point on the TMP thread.

The miniatures and companies repectively look fine to me and have a balanced range for dips in the market when one range can support the other. Nice idea but not really much being done on the sci fi bit.  So again rather disappointed that such examples were thrown back.

Relating to your note Primarch:
I did think about the selling cheaper but the risk is too high if the interest is no there for the support of more new miniatures.  My other concern was the representative/distribution part, its a killer.  The prices were lower in that profit was low but I had something to play around with to ensure the I alone am not supporting DRM developments, but when the distribution points came up it was not going to work.
One point that was given to me as a bit of advice was that people make more money if they did the work themselves and got people to take the product for their own shelves and go to conventions.  So with current costs and the support I have to do it cannot be done, I need my job to finance this and I cannot survive by doing DRM alone as a form of income.  So I was caught between stolls as you would say.
The 6mm scifi arena isnt a place to make loads of money but you can make the best of what you have if you can find the right way.

Another good point you made primarch is the cost, I cant control it if I am after a specific standard which is why I have gone the way I wanted in the first place.

I could control the cost if Bob Naismith wasnt the sculpter or limit the ranges to say 10 a race but I dont want to do that either....  any suggestions ? :p

I will carry on with whats happening at the moment as I feel that this way DRM is doing its best to change a few things in our little 6mm sci fi world.

So no price raises or drops unless they are typo mistakes as someone kindly pointed out and more miniatures.... how does that sound? ???

Ahh I also want to add that Heritage Studios will have miniatures by tomorrow and already a lot of the blisters are being sent to our U.K. address for European orders.
