Hi,

I just finished painting my Deceiver. No conversion this time, just the 40K model...

Some of you may think it's too big, but my justification is that C'tans are gods after all, and can take any shape and size they want. ?:)

EDIT: Ooops... I meant to post this in the 6mm section... Could somebody please move it?

Sweet. ?What's it made from?

Do you mean the model or the painting ?

The model is the 40K Deceiver.

As for the painting, it's really simple, probably the simplest thing I've painted in these last few months:

- White undercoat
- Thinned down Brazen Brass coat
- 2x thinned down Shining Gold coats
- Thinned down Chesnut wash
- Burnished Gold drybrush
- Burnished Gold (old version - for some reason its different from the new one) drybrush
- Burnished Gold + Mithril Silver (50/50) drybrush
- pure Mithril Silver drybrush
- Scorpion Green for the eyes

Requires absolutely no painting skills, as there are no details (except the eyes) to paint.

Now, if your question was about something else... what do you mean ?  :(8:

I thought it looked too small to be the 40K model.  I thought you'd kit-bashed it.

Nevermind. :D

Nice idea, Hojyn, it reminds me of an early Warmaster battle report in WD where they used a 28mm Great Unclean One.  It seemed appropriate, as does this!

I think there's loads of scope with the C'tan in Epic - you could do a conversion where the Deceiver is 'Morphing' out of a Titan, which it had been impersonating in order to win the worship of some Mechanicus or other Imperial citizenry...

That's a neat idea... perhaps a project for the pen category of next year's EpiComp painting competition Hojyn?

Very nice job on those Necrons. I think the Deciever looks great that size. I always found it a bit odd that a being on par with a god would take the size of a regular infantryman in 40k... Bigger is better. That's my motto! :p
