.....Did I tell you I also just broke off a drill bit in the foot of my Necromunda gang leader? Curse you Murphy!

Murphy the gang-leader or Murphy the law chap?  :p

(sorry tc, couldn't stop myself)

And yes, glue dying on you does that in Malta too...  :(

Zap a Gap

I've used that; it's good stuff.

I usually use 2-part epoxy which takes about 15 minutes to set, but I usually give it more time, just in case. Fortunately, I'm patient. :;):

The best brand by far I have found is 'Flash' medium gap filling formula (from a specialist model shop mainly specialising in RC cars and planes. (I think it is an Australian brand).
It comes in a plastic bottle (14.2g and larger sizes), with a very long thin nozzle. Costs a wee bit more, but lasts for ages and allows for very precise application. There are also low allergy versions available.

The guy at the shop also told me that superglue degrades in sunlight and warm temperatures, so keep it in shade - ideally the fridge! I don't bother with the fridge, but have been using this last bottle constantly for about 6 months. I have glued up literally hundreds and hundreds of figures with this one bottle and it is still going strong. I wipe the nozzle tip with a bit of scrap paper each time I use it, and sometimes use a pin to clear the nozzle.

That sounds like the epoxy I use. I had a tube that lasted me forever and never went bad. I would always clean the nozzles to prevent it from clogging and I don't think I ever had to stick a needle in it to clear a blockage.

I user super glue gel, which works better for me than the more fluid kind.  With the gel, you can get a dollop in the right place to stay there while you put the pieces together.

If you're in the US, Dollar Tree has super glue gel in three packs for a buck.  Best price I've ever seen.

When I first started in minature gaming I used epoxy and found it was good and allowed me to fiddle with the bits abit before it dried.  But it took too long to dry so one model took 2+ hours to complete.  Then I tried Krazy Glue which I liked and it dried fast enough.  Then came Krazy Glue Gel, I was in heaven, no longer did I have to worry about the surfaces being flat to ensure a good bond. But this transition all happened while I was assembling 25mm or 'Titan" size 6mm units.  but, I find that the standard units in Epic do not really need a strong bond, and expense, as it is a model on a stand, which will generally be flocked and sealed adding to the holding power.

I have a friend who uses only white PVA glue for all his assemblies, including titans, and having played with his armies I find it holds up very well to abuse.  It also allows the unit to be easily romoved from the base for future alterations.

My next army I am going to try the PVA glue as a means to save money.  And, worst comes to worst I'll just reglue them something as needed if they pop out, and eat the rest of the glue and remember my elementry school days . . .
:p

Well I have never used it on metal yet.  Though my buddy has assembled the Ork Gangant with it and in all the times I played with it only one of the arms fell off.  Though it was due to the fact that I dropped it :P  And it was a simple procedure of adding a dollip of glue and letting the little guy rest on his side for an 15 minutes before he was back in the fight.

So the short and long of it is Yes it does work.  Although, it will work better (ithink) for 'fitted' and rough 'flat' assemblies, than smooth 'flat' assemblies.
