I've heard that proper lighting is one of the most important things. How effective is natural lighting? I was thinking of possibly taking the pics outdoors to take advantage of sunlight.

Hi!

Natural lighting may be the best, but how to get it into your house and thus pictures at the right angle an so is the trick. Also, not all times or day or weather may help you. So in the end artificial lights are much more controlable.

I'm not thinking of bringing the sunlight indoors, but rather taking the minis outdoors. Without leaves on my trees, plenty of sunlight hits my back deck.

Hi!

I think we'd spot them and send Mojarns grey knight hit squads fairly quickly.... :;):

Good point, they would be easy to spot. Anybody who has only words of praise for GW would clearly by an infiltrator!  :p  :D

Friday I managed to get in a game of SM2 with my usual opponent (my nephew). He wanted me to help him christen his new gaming table and wanted the first game played on it to be a game of epic. Needless to say I was happy to oblige.

We played a 5k game. As usual he played Eldar and I played Squats with a Warlord battlegroup as allies. It was a close game for the first half, but after two turns, my dice failed me. I started rolling horribly and to make matters worse my nephew started rolling really well on his save throws.

Even though I lost, it was great to get a game in. Next time I think I'll take a pure Squat army.

Hi!

We used to ban allies. Mainly becuase people would always want to bring SM with IG. A very hard combo to beat when played well. I think pure armies have pros and cons that go well and play well. Also, a pure squat army has the advantage of a very good break point. :;):

I think it is appropriate that the owner of the new table pulled off a Victory on its inaugural game! :D

I hadn't thought about that, good point.  :(8:  Although I know it wouldn't have mattered to my nephew if he had lost. We were both happy simply to play Epic.  :;):
