The following words and phrases may not be used in a cadence- Budding sexuality, necrophilia, I hate everyone in this formation and wish they were dead, sexual lubrication, black earth mother, all Marines are latent homosexuals, Tantric yoga, Gotterdammerung, Korean hooker, Eskimo Nell, we've all got jackboots now, slut puppy, or any references to squid. |
I had to stop reading at that point because my laughter was disturbing my coworkers.
I was in the Marines and when I ran with the army ROTC guys at school I had to edit a large portion of my cadences. At times, they would actually stop repeating them and look around in a confused manner. And in the marines, we commonly referred to (non-corpsman) naval personnel as squids and there were multiple references in cadences to them.

Daring SERE grads to eat bugs? Duh. Besides, sometimes, the bugs taste better than MREs.
I'm surprised he survived taunting anyone in the throes of nicotine withdrawls, though. That's just asking for a most righteous stomping (I don't smoke, and I know this).

Yep, sent then new guys off to find the "Grid Squares". We also would breakout the F.M. 69, A few time we would have a new Lt. thinking the they were really Field Manuals.

hehe - Ive also had people ask for a "long wait", left handed screwdrivers, striped paint and more.
Another good one is seeing the new seaman go around the ship "charging" the luminescent escape signs with torches
