Hi!

6mm is as far as I go down scale-wise. I think 2mm is a wee too small.

Primarch

I would consider a 2mm game only if there weren't infantry.

I got a 2mm Napoleonic army a few years ago, and I do quite like them. I find basing a bit tricky, but I really like the terrain, it gives a very satisfying effect...therefore I ended up painting a lot more terrain than units :D  You can get some quite good effects from drybrushing tho'.

And 2mm aint too bad, a lot of my Naval figs are 1/3000, about 0.5mm :D Granted, you dont tend to have too many infantry in that scale :;): (in fact, you dont even tend to get too many AIRCRAFT at that scale...).

RB, think Drybrishing is the ONLY way to go at this scale, though I did paint most of the buildigns in the traditional manner.

I just really like the massed battle effect you can acieve on a snmall table, and realistic battle ranges. ?I'll be having quite a few infantry stabnds, but rememebr that its 8 stands like those above for a whole battalion - in 1:1 scale that is!

Add to that Flying machines, mechanical contraptions, river gunboats, Land Ironclads, rampaging dinosaurs, giant anarchist doomsday devices, clockwork soldiers and you have some real atmosphere! ?
:D

And speaking of clockwork soldiers, does anybody know of a manufacturer who makes a Tin Woodsman (aka Wizard of Oz) style miniature?

Hi Taz,

There's a big UK site full of miniatures guides... Blothers or something like that. I'll see if I can find a link.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

I always though this Citadel Limited Edition from the 1980s would be good for VSF.

Hi Tas,

The sight is called "Frothers United," but I haven't found a link yet.

Shalom,

Hi!

Interesting model. Looks like the tin man from the wizard of Oz.  :;):

Ive posted some more pics of my VSF stuff to my photobucket.  After much delay, I've finally completed some 2mm Infantry blocks and some cavalry.  I'm quite happy with how the Redcoats have come out actually:

anyhow, more in the bucket, including an "Iron Giant" :;):

Tas, they're great - having seen your other pics in privileged preview mode :p  I can safely say they're terrific. Do you still have your eyesight? :D cheers,
JOhn

PS - we need to start a Land Ironclads thread in Battlecomms, old chap!
