Nice stuff Jimbo - how about cracking the glass of the auspex where some ham fisted mek-boy hit it in frustration!  :D

You sure know how to model steel plate. Do you really cut all those rivets one by one from a plastic rod?  :wow:

Like the idea, now where's my craft knife.

I thought of doing something similar and having a bundle of wires sticking out as though being pulled out to try and make it work.

Yes

And it is not as difficult as it sounds.

You carefully slice the plastic rod.

With Imperial vehicles they should be the same width, with Orky vehicles it doesn't matter.

The tip I picked up from George Dellapina was to put a bit of superglue somewhere and then using the point of the modelling knife pick up the individual rivet, dip it into the superglue and then stick down where you want to.

Problems are that occasionally you lose one...  or the superglue will often harden, but this is only a crust and can be cracked allowing access to unhardened superglue.

The other thing I did was weather the armour plates bu carving and nicking the edges to give a rough look.

Problem with that, is that my Ork Skorcha now looks too good to be an Orky vehicle.

So that may have to eventually go back into the workshop for some weathering.

One of the things I have been wanting to do with my new Wartrakk model is change the tracks from the supplied ones to ones made from the Imperial Track sprue (which I originally got as part as the Gorkamorka Gubbinz bag).

Unfortnately I had in fact tried something with the track parts and they were all stuck together... After a little persuasion, I did manage to break it apart.

This is an idea of what I am trying to do.

They are wider than the supplied tracks, but I think it may work.

I think it looks great.  Not all ork stuff has to look like it's falling apart.  Some orks do take pride in their work.

Jimbo, you are entirely too skilled to be an Ork.

I dug out a bunch of Warmachine Cygnar stuff to build, paint, and hopefully start a league with.  (My bits box would consume most of a 20' shipping container, I think!)  I'd forgotten how frustrating some of that stuff was to assemble.
Stormblades are really bad (but they look good, and are disgustingly strong in the game).

Pics when I convince the pursestrings to let me get a digicam.

Hi Jimbo,

I really like the custom 28mm Ork Wartrak with the Imperial treads. It looks amazing! :)

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

To inspire the master is praise indeed.

Glad you like it. It's your models which made me re-look at my modelling.

Finally finished the last Dragonship. Now all official BFG stuff is painted. Only some scratchbuild ones to paint plus the odd asteroid.

.....and tons of LotR....
