Hi Guys,

Most of you know Dafrca as he's been one of the cornerstones of our community here at Epicomms. Right now, he's having a very hard time, and I wanted to ask everyone to say something kind on this post to help get his spirits up again.

Please recall a pleasant experience you've had with Dafrca, something you admire about him or simply something kind for one of our brothers who is down on his luck at the moment.

Hi Dafrca,

I wanted to tell you that you're one of the most decent, kind people I've ever met.

You've always been generous with trades, kind with your remarks to others and one of the great pillars of the Epicomms community.

You're also a great person to share a game with and I love the enthusiasm to put into the miniatures hobby. It's inspiring to me.

If I'm the "King of 6mm" then you're the "15mm Emperor!" :laugh:

You don't just set the example with your love of the hobby, but also with your family life, dutifully watching after your wife and children in a manner I hope to emulate when my time for a wife and children comes.

I have a British auntie who always used to say "This too shall pass." And it will. I'm sure that you'll deal with this as one of the best among us.

Keep the faith and know that you have friends standing with you.

Hi!

What hard time is it?

Nothing health related I hope.

Chin up Dafca. Four years ago I went through a difficult time regarding getting a job in the right place. We were moving around alot and me and my family were suffering for it. It was a tense time a terrible time. I have nightmares about it.

Slowly but surely things do get better, although they may appear insurmountable. The key is to be persistent and not give up. It maybe easier to throw in the towel, but in the long run not adviseable.

Your a good, pleasant, dependable guy. Everyone has a dry spell. The things you deserve will come in time with some work and perserverance.

Whatever hard timing you're having, try to keep up your spirits. Everyone goes through a rough time in his or her life, but somehow we always get through it.

Although I haven't known you as long as most of the members, I think I can speak for them by saying that it's not the same around here without you.

One thing that I always find funny is that you and I seem to agree on just about everything.   :D

I hope everything turns out favorably.

Hey Daf,

Don't know what "rough terrain" you hit, but we're all with ya, in our hearts and thoughts. You are a good sort of lad and all the crew here regards you highly.?

I hit a bad set on events last year and still dealing with some of those, but I know that we'll weather this storm... we're all in this together... ?I know in time everything will be all right. Hang in there, stand by... be patient and the Cav is on it's way. Hang tough... Imagine a Slammer's TF come sliding over the ridge, with Alois himself in the lead Combat Car... We're coming for ya, Son... :;):

I received an email telling me of this thread. I am glad I came by.

First, thank you Maksim for both the thought and the kind words.

To offer some insight to the rest of you, my mother passed away last night sometime between eight and nine in the evening. We know she was alive when her and my father went to bed. He found her dead when he woke to use the rest room and returned to see something was not right. Thus at 9:15 or so I received a call from my father who was very upset and waiting for Paramedics to arrive.

To not make this over dramatic, this was not a shock to us. She was in the Hospital off and on over the last year. She was in Congestive Heart Failure (below 20%) this week. Add on top of it her Diabetes was out of control despite the medications etc. On Tuesday she wanted to leave the Hospital and go home. When I asked her did she understand this could hasten her death, she said yes, but she wanted to go home. I believe in my heart she knew the end was upon her and did not want to die in the Hospital.

She got to go home and be with her friend and husband, my father, and die within the walls of her home. She is no longer in pain and is now at peace.

My father, a man in his mid eighties, is doing as well as could be expected. His wife of more then 58 years has passed, but he is dealing the best he can.

In any case, thank you to all of you for the supportive words and kind thoughts. The whole Casquilho Clan is grateful for your good thoughts and prayers.

Sorry to hear of your loss dafrca.

My Grandmother died last year after a similar turn of events, and choices on her part. Death is never pleasant, but often neither are the last ditch attempts at preventing it.  It was an honour to be the first of her Grandchildren, and to deliver a eulogy at her funeral.

Thinking of you and yours at this time.

As someone who has already been through twice what you are now going through I will simply say that I feel for you both and would be more than happy to chat off-list if talking would help you.
