Hi RB and Gang,
Quote (Reaversbane @ 11 Jan. 2006 (09:12)) | Navwar - the shop that never opens..... |
Really? I ordered a load of 1/3000 modern naval stuff before Christmas and got it within about a week...and its already painted |
I haven't had too many problems with them either, BUT...
I've found that smaller orders get filled more efficiently than large ones. They always seems tof orget a few items in larger orders. I have no idea why either.
Quote (Reaversbane @ 11 Jan. 2006 (09:12)) | Maksim, I always forget how much of a wealth of info you possess mate ? |
I made a decision back in the early 1980s to specialize in 6mm for all of my gaming.
Except for a few minor excursions, I've kept to that decision. The great majority of my collection is 6mm.
I also made a decision in the 2000's that computer technology had progressed to apoint where on-line communities could be viable so I started building E-group communities. I'd like to share my experience and foster the community.
I'd eventually like to start my own "6mm Consumer Affairs" web site with photos of the major lines. Bit by bit...
Quote (Reaversbane @ 11 Jan. 2006 (09:12)) | I recognise most of what you said from past discussions with people, although I aint got anywhere near the selection you have I suspect! |
I do have a large collection, but like many of us, not all of it is assembled and painted.
Some of my collection has been acquired so that I have a library of miniatures to work on when I have hobby time.
Quote (Reaversbane @ 11 Jan. 2006 (09:12)) | As regards Irregular, I must admit most of my experience comes from their sci-fi and fantasy ranges, which I got a lot of around 5+ years ago now, when I was a very broke student. |
Irregular often gets a bad name, but this is mostly from folks who have not painted their 6mm Irregular minis.
For all that Irregular minis can look cruder when in naked metal form, they are ideal sculpts for drybrushing, inking and washes.
They also look very good when based.
And like any company of their size, they have an enormous number of sculpts, all of differing quality. Their variety is staggering. They make many miniatures that noone else does.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that I've had a very good expeience with Irregular. I've mostly dealt with Iain.
Quote (Reaversbane @ 11 Jan. 2006 (09:12)) | They are some of the few mini's I am actually looking to get rid of, including about 6k worth of 6mm High Elves based up for Warmaster (it seemed like a good idea at the time...). |
If you're looking for someone to sell them to, I might... be interested.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

My feeling with Irregular was just that they had some quite poor sculpts (I meant to say my experience of Irregular was mainly historical and fantasy, I dont actually own that much modern), where other companies (which are more expensive) were doing better stuff. I long ago came to the conclusion I could buy more figures than I could paint, by extension I stopped buying Irregular. They arent terrible miniatures, I think I just got fussy in my old age. As you say, they have a scary range of figs, and thats good. They do seem to be very decent blokes, although I have never met them in person. One thing I will say about them, they have the fastest delivery I have ever encountered. More than once Ive got my order the day after submitting it, which is very impressive.
If I remember Maksim, I will try and post pics of my High Elves, if nothing else they should prove interesting reading (including the daft things I did to get a decent number of figs on a base...).

Ok,
Just catching up and letting people know whats going on as I have more of an idea myself.
First an update: Production moulds are going through and are being prepared after a few things that were changed. These will be ready very soon and are actually being worked on at the moment so I hope its quick. Work is being done to update the DRM website to have the prices and models in the miniatures range link.
Sculpts I still have sculpts on the go and I know some people whether on this thread or elsewhere have asked for certain models or variants. I am open to ideas but PM me first and I will see what I can do, obviously one of the obvious things is that it must be consistant with what I have rather than an odd model that sticks out and is useless to everyone else bar the person who asked for it.
Prices These are going to be 4 pounds for 40 little guys irrelevant of race or type. 5 pounds for 3 tanks the size of say the APC or mortar. Its 5 pounds for bigger units chasseur tank but you only get two in a blister. The Flyers will be the same though in some cases it will only be one per blister because its big.
Other models There will be huge warmachines and other stuff but I wont go into detail here, suffice to say that I have a lot in store for you.
Races People have asked about other races and yes there are others, I am currently working with Bob to design a nice little nasty race thats quite well nasty, though they look really neat so yes although the work you see is being done there are also thoughts and ideas for future stuff being checked out.
Sets Some people also asked about sets and yes I will do that at some point soon but will work first on getting the blisters out
I think thats it for now.
I will be around more often now as I was quite busy doing many things at once.
One thing thats nice is that people really like what they see, its always a risk to make stuff that people really like and get it so wrong.
Doug

Hi,
I have a quick question for people to make a few comments on. I was thinking about bases being packed within the blisters and had thought of the Warmaster like bases where people could do what they wanted with them, they dont have the holes in the same way as GW epic bases but you would have them. I ask because I have round and rectangular bases all out of metal and it wasnt easy to decide what a 'standard' base should be. I have bases with bits on them but as I have a selection it was hard to decide so I am asking what the public thinks here on this.
I have asked about obtaining bases similar to plastic ones provided by GW and unless I am prepared to shell out quite a few thousand to make this happen its not practical at this point of time.
I noticed by sheer accident someone ask on a different thread about release dates, all I can say is that we are waiting on the final bits to be finalised for the blisters and then we are ready for the miniatures we do have. There is still a few greens being made into master moulds but we are working as fast as possible to ensure that you can get them as soon as possible. I hate making promises especially when relying on others but my plan is to get as many miniatures available to buy by the end of January. Again I am not promising but thats what my goal is.
Doug
