Seems I may have chance to field the Tau in a game on the 23rd when I get back from Rome. I have a little question about something I am very keen to use - Co-ordinated fire.

In reguards to the target unit, does it get a Blast Marker from each formation as it comes under fire from them, or does it take one Blast marker for coming under fire full stop.

To illistrate, Tau units Alpha, Beta and Gamma all let loose at the Leman Russ as Tau Alpha has called in Co-ordinated fire.
For convience and effect they all carry out sustained fire actions.
So is it

Activate.
Tau Alpha fire - LR take BM for coming under fire and bullets.
Tau Beta fire - LR take BM for coming under fire and bullets.
Tau Gamma fire - LR take BM for coming under fire and bullets.

Or

Activate - LR take BM for coming under fire.
Tau Alpha fire - LR take bullets.
Tau Beta fire - LR take bullets.
Tau Gamma fire - LR take bullets.

Its the first of the two.  BM for each formation shooting. IIRC

However, don't we also need to mention that you resolve each attack separately, so that if the target unit should break after beta fires, and the target withdraws out of range, gamma does not get to fire.

I think that is where we ended up on this after our discussion. Correct?

Yep.  The current rules allow the Tau player to specify each formation's action after seeing the results of the previous action(s).

I fell in love with Sienna and Cinque terra.  I can still remember waking up in Lavento to the sound of the ocean, and hiking through orchards along cliffsides falling into the sea......
