My brother's '73 Trans Am has a shaker top sitting on top of the SD 455. I agree, it is fun watching it vibrate when starting the car, idling, etc. ?

'73?? That is awesome! What kind of condition is it in? Did he restore it? I love old Camaros, but think the Firebirds were better in the later years, especially before they got cancelled. I know GM is trying to bring the Camaro back to compete with Ford, but I don't know if that means Pontiac will bring back it's own version with a new Firebird. They are after all, just about the same cars.

I raced a 2002 Firebird with the Ram Air intake. I shot out in front about a car length or so and never gave up the lead, but I couldn't pull away. I was shocked how fast it was for being such a heavy car. Then I hit a poor turtle crossing the road, which caused it to fly up and hit the Firebird behind me. I love turtles and will stop traffic anywhere to get them out of the road. I still feel bad about it. Poor little bugger. But it was either hit him, or lose control trying to avoid him because I was well over 130mph. Anyway, that pretty much ended the race.

It's in pretty good condition. I believe it needs a bit of body work, but I think the interior is fine. The best part is he's the original owner! It's white with a red interior and has, of course, the big bird decal on the hood and honeycomb rims.

It has about 80k miles on it, but the bulk of those were put on it when it was my brother's only car. Since the late '70s it was no longer my brother's primary vehicle. So, in the past 25 years I'm guessing that fewer than 10k miles have been put on it.

Yup, that's it! Although, the shaker top on my brother's car says "SD 455" on the side. I believe something like 500 '73 Trans Ams were made with the SD 455 and fewer than 50 still exist.

Hi Gandalf,

Quote (Gandalf the Grey @ 01 Dec. 2005 (14:52))
I picked up an extra copy of the Epic 40k Players Edition ruleset for only $0.99 on E-bay.

I have a half a dozen sets or so of the E-40k rulebooks if you want another full set of the books. I'd send them to you just to help out if you're interested.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

[The ford mustangs 2006 are not that "expensive". They fluctuate between just under 20k to just under 32k depending on what it comes with.

The price of the car in the photo, which will be released in 2007 in a more expensive car quoted online as under 40k, about 39,995. Not cheap, but not what I'd consider expensive (i.e anything over 50k).

Primarch, please, some of us here are running around in an inherited Fiat Punto, which in this country where cars are obscenely overpriced costs the equivalent of US$13,000. And no chance of affording a replacement at the moment.
A ? ? ?pony cart would be an upgrade!

Oh - and good point, DS ?

Hi!

That is true.

Personally, I find it hard to justify spending more than 30k for any car. My current one (a pontiac grand prix 6 cylinders) was just under that and I dont think I'm too crazy with trying a care beyond that price.

At the end of the day its just another machine to me, but I realize some really love cars and thus would spring for such a car if they can afford it.

Hi Gandalf,

Quote (Gandalf the Grey @ 03 Dec. 2005 (17:55))
Anyone familiar with Descent: Journeys in the Dark??
I can't imagine it being better than Warhammer Quest or Hybrid, but I love games like this. Especially when everything you need comes in the box.

I've seen descent played many times now although I haven't yet played it myself. It costs a fortune, but the pieces are very cool.

I'll be playing with a friend of mine, Kimbo, tomorrow that I beleive owns it and I'll find out what he thinks for you.

Quote (Gandalf the Grey @ 03 Dec. 2005 (17:55))
Fantasy of Flight also released the Doom Boardgame that I am sure many of you have at least heard about. It hasn't been on my list of priorities, but I imagine I would get my money's worth if I did get it.

That is. . . unless someone else here recommends otherwise. . .

I played the Doom board game and didn't think much of it.

It reminded me of the Civilization (computer game) board game, which was absolutely terrible.

It's basically a sci-fi dungeon trek with the odds of you running out of ammo being substantially higher than in the video game.

My summation: "Beautiful minis, nothing special about game play."

Shabbat Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Hi!

Never saw the fantasy one, looks interesting.

The Doom game, I saw and passed on. I agree with Maksim's take on it, it seems to echo most sentiment on the net of it.

At any rate, Mongoose should change their name. It just sucks.

I don't think it's that bad of a name.

I just heard some new from GW that made me fall out of my chair. I bought the Black Templar Crusader Squad last week and wasn't crazy about the flash and wanted to know from GW if I could exchange it. Mail Order said it was a 'splash item' on a limited run and was sold out, and not coming back out, so they could write me a check instead. I said, "THE CODEX JUST CAME OUT!" and he said that the Black Templar Assessory set would be coming out soon containing the two Black Templar sprues from the Crusader set and Black Templar vehicle assessories. So I asked, "You mean in the future in order to build this squad someone will have to buy the standard Tactical Squad + the Black Templar Assessory kit?"

He said yes.

So I thought the Black Templars were kind of expensive when I paid $40 for them, but a lot of bitz come in the box and I felt like I got my money's worth. But in the future it'll cost $35 for the Tactical Squad and then probably another $15 for the Black Templar bitz.

That will be $50 for a ten man plastic Power Suit squad of Black Templar Marines! WTF!!!!

Well, the Crusader sprues are in decent shape, it was the regular Tactical stuff that I wasn't happy with, so I'll just recycle some extra bitz that I have.

I just can't believe that after just releasing the Codex they are sold out in the US and don't plan on releasing anymore.

Stupid. . .

Hi!

Welcome to the GW hobby...

..where getting screwed by GW is half the fun.... ?:/

Hi!

I stayed away from that game due to its collectable nature. They lost a ton of money in me as a customer, since I would have bought tons for my regular D&D games.

Oh, the name of the 4 legged chicken is..

..Acherai... :;):

Hi!

But for me the collectable aspect kills it. I'm not interested the game perse, for me the alure was to buy what I wanted for regular D&D games. In other words, I was looking for a good line of minis for my RPG game, I thought this line was a possibility, but having to track down what I need because of the collection aspect is too much hassle.

Anyone who makes a line like this that is NOT collectable stands to make good money, since I am not the only one to point this out. A good many on RPG forums have done so.

That's why my group buys the Reaper minis, P, although sometimes I can surprise them with GW or other sources (like LotR, or L5R).

Hi!

Oh definitely thats exactly where I buy my D&D minis (Reaper), they have agreat selection. I just hate having to paint them and was hoping the prepainted D&D minis were an option.
