Great Stuff, W/N !  The transfers really look good !  Decal film is almost inevitable, I paint over it sometimes ...  Darkone, We use the old SM1 w/mods for our TO&Es, they work ... with a little mods ! :D   But only plan using E:A; about 80% + or - , ?  :p  :;):   I'm working on T&K TO&Es based on the SM1 types ... when I get them complete, I'll send to you and you can post them here if you like ! :;):

Great painting as always WMN! But do my eyes fail me or did you not fill the hole under the upper bridge windows?  :o0

As for transfers, I usually paint matt varnish over them. Helps them to stay put and reduces the visibility of the decal film.

BTW ... the tracks on both the CI and H/B transport are from an M113 APC model !   I'd know those anywhere !  And I always brush on clear flat over the decal and later spray the whole model with clear flat ! :;):

You need to cut as close to the actual letters on the decal when you cut it out. That's the only real trick! :;):

Thanks guys.

Varnish is indeed the trick. Back when I was doing model aircraft I remember reading that you first apply a coat of gloss varnish before you stick on the decal. Then you can give it another coat of flat varnish for an almost invisible transition.
Basically I just thought several layers of varnish was overkill for Epic Miniatures though the CI probably could take it without problems. I don't normally use varnish either. I guess I'm just a bit surprised to find that ForgeWorld decals were inferior to the GW ones... ???

Wonderful pics, which I have strangely seen somewhere.....
Yes... It is a strange coincidence isn't it :D

Cheers! :)

Here's "The Mad Butler".

I painted him up today. I've yet to come up with a story and a better name for him.
