Greets all -

Long time, no post. ?I've been busy but haven't taken the time to upload or post
the picts. For shame, for shame... ?:-:

One brief bit - finally posted a 'PhotoBlog' of some work I recently did - magnetizing the
turret on my 28mm WW2 Sherman Jumbo tank - here.

More soon - promise! ?:D

Some pictures were taken with the cellphone. To say that the quality is poor is a major understatement, though. Only pic of salvageable quality is attached. See what I meant?

The contest organizer has allowed me to enter the pictures a day after the line, fortunately.

Did some painting last night.

One day I might finish it...

Also painted some Epic as well.

A whole platoon of 'dog-face' WW2 US infantry appreciates the support of that Sherman Jumbo.

...as well as a tank platoon of early-war Shermans (the ones with the tin foil armor
and the pop-gun for main armament) :)

I play BattleGround:WW2 with my local group, although my Epic fixation over the last
couple years has cut into my WW2 playing... :(

Finished the Shadowsword I was working on at the same time as my ToEG Hydras. Currently trying to decide if either need anything adding to their bases.

If I can find my missing Dreadnought, I'll be endeavouring to finish my ToFG army and fleet within the next month or so.

Dysartes -

Very purty SSword! It could use some rust, but that's just me - I like my tanks to have
that 'lived in' (and died in?) look... ?

If what you're missing is a metal SM dread, I have some spares.
Drop me a line if the search comes up dry...

Hi,
I'm doing an eldar army that I will eventually sell and I need some input on the vehicles. Would it be better if I switched the bone and gold coloured sections or leave as is?
Thanks

Centurion -

Cool - that's one spiffy Falcon!

Since you ask, here ?are some suggestions (perhaps more than you wanted...??) :)
? Since you're selling it off, I assume you aren't "emotionally attached" to that color scheme? :)
? ? ?Assuming not, I'd suggest going for a stronger contrast - instead of the bone and gold detailing,
? ? ?I'd go for either White or Silver (but choose just *one*) - either would stand out from the
? ? ?dark purple better. ?Yes, I'm advocating a two-color scheme, rather than a three-color
? ? ? scheme. IMHO, if you put *too* many colors on epic models, they end up looking
? ? ? 'busy', rather than well-detailed. But YMMV...
? Add a final touch of light blue to the blue domes.
? IMO, painting the lascannon 'emitter tip' a contrasting color doesn't really 'help' and
? ? ? ?isn't time well-spent. If you're like me, you might be laboring over this to get it 'just right'...
? ? ? ?but remember - you're setting the 'look' for the whole army and what you do
? ? ? ?now, you'll have to do over and over and over! Coming up with a striking but *easy*
? ? ? ? color scheme will save you Hours (and perhaps your sanity!)?down the road.
? IMO, the long-ish lump in the center of the model is another canopy - perhaps paint it blue?

My hints are pretty basic stuff and I hope come across as helpful rather than 'preachy'.

Most of all, make this army *fun* to paint and it'll be time well-spent.

Good luck!
Larry

Hi!

I'm making the switch for the FW ones. Although the classic falcons have their place. :)
