Anyone else making E-A IG militia / hive gangers?
How about any IG force that isn't standard?
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

I'm specifically wondering what anyone is using for the following E-A units:
APD6a ?DEFENDER? (Armageddon Pattern) - Anyone know what chassis this tank uses? A Chimera, a Leman Russ or something else? - It seems as if it is a Chimera with a Rapier gun in the chassis and the standard Chimera multilaser in the turret. It doesn't have any transport capacity though.
HADES 210mm HOWITZER (Armageddon Pattern) - Maybe I'll use microarmour artillary for these. Ideas, anyone?
HELSREACH 85mm AA GUN (Armageddon Pattern) - Maybe I'll use microarmour Triple-A for these. Ideas, anyone?
HIVE MILITIA INFANTRY - I'm going to use a mixture of cultists and Catachans. I may use some proxies as well. - I'm assuming this category includes conscripted Hive Gangers as well as a more formal milita of citizens.
IMPERIAL GUARD COMMAND
IMPERIAL GUARD COMMISSAR
IMPERIAL GUARD STORM TROOPERS - I think I'm going to use proxies for these.
RAPIER LASER DESTROYER (Armageddon Pattern)
SANCTIONED PSYKER
SNIPERS - I think I'm going to use proxies for these. I have some 6mm Scotia proxy infantryman in a prone position with long rifles that would probably look good in this role.
TARANTULA SUPPORT GUN ? - It's not supported in the E-A rules yet.
TECH PRIEST
THUDD GUN (Armageddon Pattern)
VALKYRIE (Armageddon ?Pattern) ? No models yet. - I'm planning to use CAV Fenris flyers for these until the new models come out.
VULTURE Gunship (Armageddon Pattern) ? No models yet. - I've got no idea!
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

Got your PM Maksim, thanks. ?
The Defender, I'd use a Chimera or even a Rhino chassis. ?
The 210mm, a WWII German, US or Russian FA from GHQ. http://www.ghqmodels.com/M/catalog.php3 http://www.ghqmodels.com/M/item/G500 http://www.ghqmodels.com/M/item/R31
The 85mm AAA, the same from GHQ, too. ? http://www.ghqmodels.com/M/catalog.php3 http://www.ghqmodels.com/M/item/G14 http://www.ghqmodels.com/M/item/G69
Militia, there a lot of WWII Infantry to choose from. http://www.ghqmodels.com/M/catalog.php3
IG Stormtroopers, GZG - NAC or NSL Infantry. ? http://www.gtns.net/gzg/
Tarantula - Brigade has a great piece for that. ? http://www.brigademodels.co.uk/NoFrames ... 0-309.html
Thud Gun - GHQ Ger. sIG 33 or UK 25 lber. http://www.ghqmodels.com/M/catalog.php3 http://www.ghqmodels.com/M/item/G124 http://www.ghqmodels.com/M/item/G123 ?? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? GHQ, Brigade & Days of Empire have a lot of options... ?

I always though "Snipers" were Ratling Snipers, with a different name...
I was going to assemble my Catachans as something not Steel Legion, Milita, Ork Hunters or someting else I think of. I need a little variation in my forces (currently unassembled...)
Cheers, Chris.

Chris,
I always though "Snipers" were Ratling Snipers, with a different name... |
At one time, Ratlings were practically the only regular IG snipers, but GW appears to want to deemphasize any connection between the abhumans and the Imperium. Maybe the Inquisition (I hate saying that. The real one was bad enough!) has hit high gear and is now eliminating abhumans whole sale. Maybe fiction is mimicing reality or vice-versa?
Notice a trend: Squats, IG Beastmen, Ratlings, Who's next?
Ogryns are still going strong, but Ratlings appear to be on the wane as many of the new 28mm 40k figures appear to be human snipers. Add that to Space Marine scout snipers, Imperial assassins and it looks like the Ratlings must not have bid low enough on the Imperium's last contract for snipers.
I've heard rumor that the new plastic sprues (or ressurrected old ones) will have most of the specialist figures removed. If anyone gets the axe, I'd put money on the Ratlings.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

Hi!
Hmm... that's a good pickup, Maksim. I think you are right and all "abhumans" seem to be on the way to being phased out.

Primarch,
I don't think that they'll be phased out entirely...
They'll be recycled as new enemies of the Imperium.
I'm still wondering if the Squat / Demiurge thing will come to pass.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

Hi!
Ah! Well, I'm pretty clueless when it comes to new GW ideas.
What are these Demuirge? Rehashed Squats?

Basically, the Demiurge are rumored to be rehashed Squats. They already have two BFG ships, but the fluff about them is still limited. Jervis has intimated several times that the Demiurge are Squat successors.
Unfortunately, the Tau beat the Demiurge out as the next 40k race.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

Ok, since there are going to be Demiurges, are we going to see Urges and Quatrourges as well?
Maksim, where did you hear about these units?
-APD6a ‘ DEFENDER’ (Armageddon Pattern)
-HADES 210mm HOWITZER (Armageddon Pattern)
-HELSREACH 85mm AA GUN (Armageddon Pattern)
-HIVE MILITIA INFANTRY

And it looks like the Hrud are going to be the next new race if there is one for the release of Fourth Edition 40K so stuntie- lovers will have to wait awhile since it's been well stated that Fanatic aren't allowed to do anything more on them until the Studio has written a "proper" history, fluff, etc. for them and ensures that everything will be unified (Like that ever happens anyway... ).

Mojarn,
Ok, since there are going to be Demiurges, are we going to see Urges and Quatrourges as well? |
I know what you mean. I keep having images of Septimourges and Nonourges going through my head. I think that all the Fanatic writers should take some Latin courses so they won't be so "Vulgate!"
I also get flashbacks of Oompa-Loompas every time I hear this word. GW is the Evil empire!
Maksim, where did you hear about these units?
-APD6a DEFENDER tank (Armageddon Pattern)
-HADES 210mm HOWITZER (Armageddon Pattern)
-HELSREACH 85mm AA GUN (Armageddon Pattern)
-HIVE MILITIA INFANTRY ? |
All of these units were created by Jervis to my knowledge for an earlier playtest ruleset. They've been removed from the most recent ruleset (along with Ork bommas and a few other units) because they won't have models out for them in time or, at least, that's the rumor.
I really like the units. They add a lot of flavor to the game.
-APD6a DEFENDER tank (Armageddon Pattern)
This is a tank probably based on the Chimera chassis that mounts a Rapier and a Chimera-style multilaser. We don't have much more information on it other than it was built as a stop-gap measure by Armageddon factories durring the 3rd Battle of Armageddon.
-HADES 210mm HOWITZER (Armageddon Pattern)
This is a big PDF stationary artillary piece built by the Hades Hive factories.
-HELSREACH 85mm AA GUN (Armageddon Pattern)
This is a big PDF stationary artillary piece built by the Helsreach Hive factories.
-HIVE MILITIA INFANTRY ?
These guys are a mix of Hive Gangers, conscripts, citizen PDF and others thrown together to defend Armageddon. They are rabble. ?
---------------------------------------
Mojarn,
PM with your E-mail address and I'll see about sending you a copy of those playtest rules if I can find them.
Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.
