True... so how are you M/S ?! :)

Hi L-4 and Gang,

I'm not bad, but I am stressing right now. The job situation combined with dealing with EDD are driving me a little batty.

I also encountered several crazy people or jerk-bobs as I like to call them yesterday...

- A jerk-bob at the gas station who had pulled out two care lengths from the pump, but insisted that he was just "repositioning" his car and...

- A jaywalking jerk-bob who yelled at my car despite my slowing down for him on the middle of a street. Apparently I didn't slow down enough for his taste...

I just ignored the two and took things in good stride, but... OY! VAT A JERK! ?:p

I can't beleive that my thread finally hit 100 pages of messages.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

KAIJU: Monster Scale - Taller Than A...

Hi Guys,

What I've discovered is that:

- If using human units, buildings and scenery, 2" to 4" (50-100mm) monsters seem to scale best with miniatures of the 1/285, 1/300, 5mm and 6mm scales.

- Practically speaking though, any miniature between 1" to 4" (25mm to 100mm) seem to work fine with a few smaller miniatures for spider swarms and the like.

- I have been basing all of my monsters on fender washers of these sizes:

- 3/4" for small swarm-type monsters...
- 1" for most 25mm scale figures...
- 1&1/4" for slightly larger figures...
- 2" for the larger 3" to 4" in height monsters...
- And occasionally a larger base for REALLY BIG monsters...

------

I'm still looking for a Staypuft Marshmallow man like the one from Ghostbusters... ?:D

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

I would agree with Maksim that the four inch Godzilla looks nice on the table if you just want a face off.

But if you want them to look more like the movies, then the six inch looks better in my opinion.

Hi Dafrca,

You're right. Thanks for the spot-check.

I went back and corrected the error.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

I told you you are interesting!

Keep the faith mate - I know good things are just around the corner from you. :)

Be well and enjopy each day for what it is - not surrounded by screaming students and justifying yourself to a dim-witted Principal! :D

Hi Dafrca and Gang,

To be honest, I have been thinking about leaving Epicomms for awhile. I don't like the way the community is shaping up at the moment. There is very little control here over the rogue elements and I feel helpless in dealing with them.

Deleting posts after the fact works for reasonable individuals (they feel reprimanded and watch what they are doing... ), but doesn't do a thing for individuals who disdain the group to begin with (Such people feel that they have been unfairly disciplined and strike out... ).

I'm pretty frustrated over that and that I am unable to do anything effective about that.

And my thinking about leaving is about needing a break from the things I can't change. It's not about trying to deny others or be immature. It's about seeing that I have my hands tied here and needing to change the nature of the equation.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

I cannot say that I am happy to hear this Maksim, though I do really understand your reasoning and agree it can be very frustrating.

IMHO the 'criminal' element is sliding off the very restrictive SG forum and coming here to vent. I hope you do not include me in this group, however if I have wronged you in some manner I do apologize and hope you return soon.

Hi Dafrca and Gang,

To be honest, I have been thinking about leaving Epicomms for awhile.

I believe that this would be a tragedy of the highest order.

You are a core memebr who frequently gives much to the group, on both wargaming and other subjects.

I truley hope that this is a rough patch that will pass with time and that you will look forward to coming back fully in due course.

I can only say that I hope that you dont allow the "rogue elements" to spoil your real friendships here

Ditto, perhaps the solution is to step down as mod or take a break for a while at least, it would be really sad to see you leave :(

Maksim,

I can understand you're frustration, but you're presence here would be sorely missed. I have to agree with Tas; you are a core member. Since I, too, have noticed a change here since the SG forum re-org, I can see why you feel like you need a break for your mental health. Perhaps Justiniel's solution of stepping down as a mod would be helpful.

But what has changed? ?

This is still the friendliest forum that I know.

Is it the inclusion of the army threads? ?

I don't visit those as such I may not be aware of bad post going on. ?

You are valued, Maksim, and your presence would be a blow to the group.

Maksim,

I've not read more than the last page of your Blog, but what I've seen worries me.

You've been around EpiComms since before it was actually "Epicomms" (and there are very few who can claim to that!) and more to the point, you've been a highly valued member since day one.

Such things have to be one's own call, and you should do whatever you feel is best for yourself and for the enjoyment of your hobby involvement.

However, I would like to say that your absence would be felt greatly and you would be sorely missed so I would like to implore you to merely take a step down in the level of your involvement and not disappear entirely.

I myself used to post here (And many other places... ) day in and day out, but have in the past year or so cut back a great deal.

I no longer have time to read 70% of the forums and participate in far fewer still. I wish I had time to do all I used to, but I remain determined to still be involved here to some degree as long as it survives as a site. I'd ask you to do the same; take a step back if you feel it's best, but please don't become a stranger mate! :D
