You have to ask....

Do you really need to know...

No and No.

Yes, there are some real psycos over here. Sad thing is, some of their suggestions are as bad as the crime that created the suggestions.

Of course this is also moving toward a political debate on Americans etc. So I will stop here.

Bottom line is, what happened in London was not right and I am sure, when the time is right, England will do what it needs to in order to feel vindicated.

Hi Jimbo,

To be honest, I DON'T need to know.

I asked out of politeness to CS and curiosity.

I can guess what the wackos are saying.

I'm with Dafrca on this one. Noone deserves what happened and the people that did this are the ones I hope will be stopped because they are deranged.

I'm not as confident as Dafrca that something will be done about this. While I have every confidence that the British people know what to do, I have some apprehension that this matter will get caught up in politics and the wrong message will be sent to the people who committed this crime.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

P.S
I will keep my opinions to myself now as I am discussing too much political matter on a board that is thankfully about something else.

On a more serious note: regardless of the polotics involving those in power and those who elect to cause this kind of attacks... What has been done to those in London is wrong and sad. It makes me angry because once again, the common men and women pay the price. :{

My most heartfelt sympathies to those affected by this latest act of barbarism.  I am very relieved to hear that our friends here were not hurt, and hope that holds true for their friends and families.  Like Maksim, I too have suffered family losses (in the Bali bombing) and know the pain this can cause.

To try and find the "silver lining" (as minor as it is), this event will reaffirm the commitment of the "coalition of the willing" and peace loving nations in the supression and neutralisation of such organisations, which in turn will reduce further incidents in the future.  My personal committment to this cause is unwavering.

Yours in sympathy and resolve,
Paul

It will take more than this to make Londoners panic. We have been through random acts of violence and the threat of bombs for decades now (I remember police checking the rubbish bags outside where I used to live every evening).

I hope that the few London board members are OK (Furgie, Wargame Insomniac). It seems that the incident is over and the clear up and questions are starting.

I was no-one where near it, and so I was shocked to hear about this, and local institutions like my own are providing support where they can.

Thanks for the note. I hope that everyone is unhurt.

Hi CS

All OK- thanks for asking.

Was on the underground (Central Line) yesterday morning when they announced that Liverpool Street station was closed for security alert. Thought nothing of it as you get used to this in London.

Was only when I got off tube train at Chancery Lane & arrived at work that we found out that there had been a bomb. I have one friend that I am still trying to track down but apart from that evreyone I know was unaffected.

We had to stay at work initially as they were not letting people leave the building. Tubes, trains & buses were all obviously suspended immediately after the last incident. Then from about 3pm they started running limited service on trains and from about 4pm buses as well. I waited at work a while longer to avoid the initial rush. I got home fine by taking 3 buses- took me hour+half, so only 30 minutes longer than normal.

From this morning some of the tube services were running OK so I took the usual Central Line.
Felt apprehensive when the tube train was held at Shepherds Bush because a tube train ahead of us at St.Paul's was "being investigated". It sure felt good to breathe fresh air when I got at Chancery Lane!!

Cheers

James

My sympathies, and condolences to the people of England, none deserved what occurred.

It is the act of cowards, not freedom fighters, to attack unarmed civilians, and I am sure that the people of England will get through this with their heads held high as they have done many times before.

I am also sure that the cowards that carried out the attack will continue to hide in the sewer out of which they crawled.

You shall not stand alone in this fight.

The Intell, Military and Police Forces of many nations have been and are working on stopping this kind of senseless act.  But all it takes is one time for the lunatics to get thru ... It's going to take some time to defeat and stop this madness.  But we will prevail as we have in the past.  Again, I know we in the US are very sorry for the loses.

Yes he was fine- thanks for asking.
Just did n't catch up with him until Friday. Had a few hours getting worried but, touch wood, I don't know anyone that was directly affected.

My heart goes out to the people that still don't know whether their loved ones are missing. The papers still publishing lists & photos - they have yet to get to the carraige so they have not yet had a chance to collect all body parts, let alone id them by fingerprints etc.

Words can't convey how they must be feeling....

James
