Hi all,
I'm reinstalling odds and ends into the old comp after a total hard drive wipe our, but on downloading and trying to install Adobe acrobat reader I'm getting something new: it installs the software, sets up an icon on the desktop, starts to optimize performamce, and them does what it calls a rollback and wipes out adobe acrobat reader away....
Any idea anyone?

Thanks.  :{

Perhaps a sacrifice to the Machine God?

Hmmm... It could be the updating software which is acting funny? Which version Adobe Reader are you trying to install?

Cheers! :)

The sacrifice has been tried; didn't work. Old cog-brain is demanding of late....

Warmaster Nice: it's version 7, the latest. Thanks.

Hmmm... that's weird. Maybe you should try and download an older version and then use the updating function to get the latest version. Worth a try anyway. Failing that I suggest bashing the keyboard untill something happens. It usually works for me :p

Cheers! :)

V, make sure that one of the other software packages you uploaded did not already try and install Reader. Sometimes Reader acts up when it finds signs of another version on the machine. Many other software packages do install Reader, so it might be part of the issue.

If not, I suggest the "toss the computer into the nearest body of water and buy a new one. :p

Thanks guys. It's definitely not on board yet. I'll look again. Then try the old version business. Then hit the keyboard. And then hit the sea - with the computer..... :angry: :laugh:
