Received the package today. Started to read the first rulebook. Monster vs. Monster smack down.

I do like the quotes that run through the rules. Also the dedications were a nice touch. ?:D

Hi Daniel,

I looked through my GMR and MI books yesterday and definitely think the better production value is with MI.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

I saw the King Kong trailer when I went to the Spielburg WOTW film.
Looks like a great Kong v T-Rex Kaiju smackdown on Skull Island there... :p

Hi Tas,

Diana and I also saw the King Kong film trailer and it looks good. It's hard to imagine Jack Black in a serious role though... And Adrian Brody is the hero?

It will be a good kaiju film though...

And speaking of Kaiju films, when Diana and I went out shopping yesterday, the American-made Godzilla film with Matthew Broderick was on sale at Target for $5.50 USD... I promptly bought a copy... the price was right!

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

OK, Made it through the first book. Some observations:

Scale and size does not matter. This was at first odd to me being a War Gamer, but then I had a good laugh. My son's plush toy at 7" could fight my 4" Dragon and my 2" demon and each be as strong as the other. THe importnt thing is powers. This is smart when you are then going to send the players to the toy box to find "minis".

The overall rules sounded simple for the most part.

For as many times as they quote Godzilla movies, they keep trying very hard to remind you there are more monsters then just Godzilla.

Well laid out and clean format. The book does feel like the person knew what they were doing. There were some errors professional would spot, but for the most part, a great job!

Here's where he came from, and no, I won't be calling him 'Dol Phantom'. He originally had a windable mechanism allowing him to walk, but it got stuck every half a step, and I preferred to make him a static - and painted - model.

Hi Daniel,

Great review!

I also really like the scale flexibility of the system.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.
