Well, as I have told you guys before, Epic has been on the backburner for awhile now due to work and family commitments. ?However, I'll be home from Aug-Nov and so am gearing myself to start up the foundry smelter of productivty once again ?
To that end, I was having a think about what I want to achieve and came up with the following. ?Its not exhaustive, just what came to mind over the last day and lost more will come up no doubt once I actually reopen the boxes with half completed WIPs...
Epic Projects- Tas's Wish List Ver 1.0 (Jul 05)
IG: *Finish painting my Imperial Navy Fighter Squadron *Finish painting my Imperial Navy Bomber Squadron *Get my Hellbore and CI finished *Do a Big flashy IG Supreme Commander stand *Construct a 12 stand OGRYN Assault Company *Build a RR Command group (rules and models) so I can field a RR Battalion... *Dig around my masses of WW2 and WW3 microarmour and build up a Seige Masters force *Complete my 2nd and 3rd Stormtorrper Formations (SM1 Assault troopers) *Complete my next 2 IG Biker Detachments *Build myself some Imperial heresy era specialist forces *Flock all those infantry stands (about 100) I painstakingly painted last year...
Longer Term IG Projects: *Do something with all those bare metal Titans... *Do something with those 6 Ordinati...Maybe build a small AM force with some Skitarii???
SM: Complete my Flesh Tearer Battle Company (50% completed) Paint up my Drop Pods Do a Big flashy SM Supreme Commander stand Go back through my DA army, repair paint damage and add all the details and icons I promised I would do in 1991 when I speed painted them for a game the next day...
Longer Term SM Projects: Reorganise my SM forces into EA detachemnts, within the SM1 TO&E structure (looking forward to seeing L4s once they get pubished on the web!)
The "First Founding" Project. ?Build a representative detachment of troops (with characters) from each of the original Founding Chapters prior to the Heresy. (I've been thinking about this for around 10 years...Wouldnt it be great if we could get some official support (ie minis) and do this as a Group project )
Chaos: *Get my MEGATRADE Chaos hordes and organise them into... well an army! *Complete my Word Bearer Host *Chaos Altar conversion (from Mightly Empires Necropolis) *Finish conversion of a Beetleback Warlord to a Demon possessed Titan of the Deaths Head Legio *Finish Banelord titan *paint my 2 Helltalons *Convert some Dreadies to chaos *Paint up a BFG Chaos cruiser for some "High Guard" support
Longer Term Chaos Projects: *Convert 2 Warhounds to the Fell powers *Do the long thought about Nurgle Warlord Titan *Think about how to do some Helltalon Assault pods *Scratchbuild some Deathwheels & defilers
Nids: *Beef up the scant, pitful microBrood that is my 'Nid Army *Paint it *Organise it *Play with it
Orks: *Work out just what is in those 3 big boxes of stuff I got in a trade... *Either get motivated to turn them into an army, or think about trading it all for Nids
Stuff to Buy/Acquire (apart from Nids!): *Swordwind Supplment *IG Character pack *IG Robots *Titan Warlord CC Head1, Power Saw arm and Corvus Assault arms/head *Stormtrooper Transport- Valks? Proxy (like those nice GROPOS ones?) *Better storage mechanisms, especially for bigger minis

At least I wont be running out of projects anytime soon!

This is a list of handy shortcuts for myself, to the threads with pics of my army I posted last year (so I dont keep having to search for them)
Tas's Epic SM Army battleforce http://www.epic40k.co.uk/epicomm....;hl=tas
Tas's Imperial Guard Force http://www.epic40k.co.uk/epicomm....;hl=tas
Tas's Other Epic Armies http://www.epic40k.co.uk/epicomm....;hl=tas
I promise (cross my heart, hope to die, may Primarch spit in my eye!) to update the pics with my newer camera once near the end of the year when my next time at home is up and I've added a bit more to them

Thanks mate - but wait till the end of the year. I plan to have all basic troops painted, including the second Arty company I have acquired over the last few months...

I had some good enws on the phone for htose of us Down Under (yes thats you too Markconz!) re SG orders
As of Sep (which means read Oct-Nov probably), you will be able to order SG stuff from GW OZ online, who will then get it shipped in a weekly delivery from UK to Oz, then mail it out to you. Wait time about 2 weeks approx, but you only pay the postage from th GW Oz distribution centre to your house.
This has literally just been agreed to in the last 2 days, so take it with a pinch of salt. But thats good enws. I have so far been retiscent to order stuff and pay nearly equal cost of the minis for postage and shipping, but this shoud help out.
Assuming SG are still producing EA minis later this year of course...

Good news indeed!

I like them too!
Actually I use a mix of square, rectangle and circular (small coins) depending on the troop types. But for that massed ranks of troops feeling, you cant go past the old squares. I still have a bunch of em in the "ready box"
