OK, Im confused...
How can this possibly be considered an increase in customer service? Are the old forums to be discontinued? Great, now there are 2 archives to trawl through...
Looks my infrequent forays there and going to even more infrequent.

Sorry V, though any reference to Anti Submarine Warfare equipment makes me happy!
M.A.D. = Mutually Assured Destruction.
The Cold War strategic concept of "dont you dare start a war or I'll wipe you out, then you'll wipe me out and we'll all lose - so dont bother trying in the first place, OK?"

vanvlak - Yes, the link here is one of the reasons for this thread, although I guess not the only one. I must admit that I am pleased that the link is there. I think that it does represent a certain amount of trust and faith in these boards (and all of the boards directly linked in this way).
One thing that I do wonder about, is how these new boards will be organised. If there is essentially one board for all 'rules in progress' discussion, wont that make tracking your favourite army more difficult? I can see that the Epic board in particular will get fairly high traffic, but it will mean trawling through the posts for the Tyranid related ones. I hope that there will be an effective way of sorting them.

How can this possibly be considered an increase in customer service? | What GW wants = "Great Customer Service"
As we all keep having to be reminded: Logic and GW are not even in the same universe.

Its like being back in the Cold War... ? | On the GW boards, there were times it was not even "Cold", just Open Warfare.

Aye, thus my decrease in appearances there over the past 2 years from twice daily to barely monthly.
And why would I need to go there when I have grownup and fun blokes like you guys to chat about epic and pretty much anythin else with eh?

About a third of the people trying to register after a houndred or so people registered successfully are now having that problem, I have no idea why, but it is frustrating many. I had already registered myself. I am curious how many people will use the link from the new forums to come over here too. I suppose it depends on how restrictive their new policies are enforced and how many people dont just decide to throw in the towel and wash their hands of Specialist Games for the present, I have been playing since 2nd edition Epic but I remember Epic 40k putting me off enough to put my armies away for a while, now I'm back into it stronger than ever before but Epic A was atracting epic players from all editions, Vets, Newbies and everyone inbetween seemed to be getting interested to one degree or another untill Fanatic started reorginising then alot of the interest I had seen locally, the gamers who have seen GW abandon epic before became more leary of getting back in. This latest move will be seen by many of them as another nail in the coffin of specialist games support. I know that a ton of independant support of epic has gone on over here, but alot of gamers are always going to be interested in Company support. Anyway Just my two cents. Grim

This is one of those recurrent topics amongst netepic "old hands". There will be gamers that will ONLY want company support for them to enjoy and follow a game. There are those like myself and others who enjoy supporting the game independently of the company. Its a matter of taste of course, but due to GW's erratic support of epic, I find supporting epic independently of GW is a lot more reliable than depending on GW....

There are those like myself and others who enjoy supporting the game independently of the company. | To tell the truth I am some where in the center of the range between the two. I prefer to have the support come from the company. I hope that the stuff they put out will be in balance to their already existing game and supplements. (Yes I know this is not always the case ) It is not that I can not create my own or that I am unwilling to support other fan efforts, I just have that preference.
Now, having said that, many times in the past I have felt the need to go out on my own and create my own support for a game. Or I have sought out those who were doing the same. Classic Traveller when GDW turned it back on the fans, or Twilight 2000 when GDW put a gun it it?s mouth called Dangerous Journeys and pulled the trigger.
Sometimes I have done it because I wanted to use one system to play another background.
In the end, we as fans have to do what works for our play group, but if the company is willing to support and give to the fans, I want to support them back.
Sad GW does not seem to always understand that.
