And for ease of viewing the detailed shots..
The Ships
Well let me tell you something these are some pretty detailed ships. I had the hardest time getting the cranes on the German ships on. My bane here was the turrents I have spents hours bending turrets into the proper positions so they don't look like limp noddles. Just not proper for a 12" gun.
Overall these are wonderful minis with incrdible details. Very little flash and nice cast. I'm just worried about the turrets, but that is the look I wanted.
Your notice one ship is missing it's center funnel I have written GHQ to get the bit that did not come in the blister.
The ships are bases on 1" x 4" bass wood with a metal base glued on top. The metal base is there more for weight than anything else.
So now it's time to primer. I have found no pictures on the web of these ships painted outside the few example on GHQ's website.
IF anyone know of any please let me know.
enjoy!

They look Great CC!
I highly recommend the adoption of either metallic bases strips to stop them rolling (and thus protect the integrity of the funnels and superstructures) - please learn from my errors!
There are some good pics on the web if you are after some generic Fleet colours. I have about 8 shades of grey for naval ship painting, and the decks are predominantly wooden.
Great stuff! Congratulations again, Commodore!

There's something in WWI naval which appeals to me. Probably the fact that the ships look "ded shooty". Modern ships may be more deadly with the missiles, sensors & stuff but compared to the good old battlewagons they don't look shooty enough and carriers are butt ugly to boot (sorry Tas ).

You are right Mojarn - carriers are butt ugly compared to the grace and sleek lines of a Destroyer or Frigate. The 100 or so planes are a touch nasty though..
And old style ship ARE shooty and DO have lots of uns. Because they needed them! I have used a single modern 5inch gun (127mm) to plant 6 HE projectiles within 10metres of a target 12 miles away in a 3 second period.
Now THATS some seriously accurate firepower...

Just as a matter of interest, and as it fits in well here, I recently discovered that HMS Caroline (built 1914) is lying in Belfast, I've yet to visit her but intend to as soon as I'm able. More info Here

Speaking of WWI era ships that can be visited, the last existing WWI dreadnought is the USS Texas, moored near Houston, Texas.

And if I'm not mistaken, the Soviet cruiser Aurora still exists as well.
