Quote (deathlynx @ 21 2005 June,10:07) | Well, here in the US there was an expansion for BFG called "Invasion" which dealt with boarding actions using 40K rules...about a halfway step between Kill Team and full fledged 40K...Sorta like Warbands as opposed to Skirmish or WFB...Kinda fun looking...And Mod_P over at the SG BFG forum has been looking into getting it scanned and put online... |
I thought that soudned very intersting, but was never able to get a copy of that here in Australia - can you let me know when/if it eventually becomes available in pdf (or whatever) format? Cheers! ?

Maksim, many of these types (e.g. Navigators, Rogue Traders, Tech Mech types) do exist in one game - the one farthest from our preferred scales, Inquisitor.

Along with lists for White Scars, Hylgar's Hellraisers (an IG unit), Crangor's buccaneers (Human pirates), mercenaries, Luggub's Drop legion (Ork force) and Eldritch Raiders (Eldar pirates).

I have a copy somewhere...

Hi Dafrca,
Dafrca: The reason I ask, is that if you wanted a list of Armies, it is one thing. If you wanted a list of items with-in armies, then that is a different list. This list feels like a mix of both. For example, Rogue Traders were in the original book, they had stats etc. but they were not their own army.
I think it would be interesting to list "Armies" and maybe on another thread list items or troop types that could be brought into the armies. |
You have a good point and I'd be interested to see how you'd restructure the list...
Please be my guest, friend...
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

Another consideration is that even though there may be stats for "X troopers" in 40k, that doesn't mean they were ever fielded in large enough numbers to field an epic scale army.

You forgot the official "Eldar Pirates". They are a force in battlefleet gothic (the rulebook eldar list). They do NOT belong into a craftworld but neither are they exodites. They are something in between.
Cheers,
Xavi

We are worried about Necrons in the background...
Just look at this list...

There are listed races, but the original Rogue Trader talks about millions of worlds and races across the universe.
You could have anything you like.
Remember the Tau are very un-40K like for the 40k universe and therefore anything is possible.
If of course as the thread implies we are talking about published and referenced armies then you need to include:
* pre-industrial human armies (aka fantasy) * fantasy style Orks (pre-feral feral Orks) etc...
As referenced in the original Warhammer Siege book.
RT also references 20thC style human armies as well.
