Great painting as always WMN! But do my eyes fail me or did you not fill the hole under the upper bridge windows? 
As for transfers, I usually paint matt varnish over them. Helps them to stay put and reduces the visibility of the decal film.

BTW ... the tracks on both the CI and H/B transport are from an M113 APC model ! I'd know those anywhere !  And I always brush on clear flat over the decal and later spray the whole model with clear flat !

You need to cut as close to the actual letters on the decal when you cut it out. That's the only real trick!
