I played 2 games this week with Biel Tan. I won versus Scions of Iron and fought to a draw against ChrisLS's nasty Warlord-equipped Steel Legion. I threatened to win twice and so it was he who fought me to a draw, but the miracle of it was, I survived through Turn 4! I now feel confident enough to try this variant list.
However, one side note, now that another 2 or 3 list variants have popped up this week alone, I feel less "special" for trying this, and almost like too many lists are being proposed. Thats just me, I guess.
So I drew up two lists. Neither feels "perfect" yet. Maybe Im looking for advice, and maybe I just want to show what I came up from this list.
Option 1, 3000 points 200) Crone World Raiders Warhost: 1 Farseer, 5 Guardians, 2 Dark Reapers (to defend Blitz) 325) Crone World Raiders Warhost: 1 Farseer, 5 Guardians, 2 Wraithguard, 2 Fire Dragons w/ 1 Exarch (more of an assaulty infantry formation) 500) Daughters of the Crone Warhost: 8 Howling Banshees w/ 2 Exarchs, 4 Wave Serpents (mobile assaulty death) 520) Deathwalker Troupe: 1 Farseer w/ Autarch, 3 Guardians, 4 Wraithguard, 3 Wraithlords Durable assault formation, BTS) 200) Far Rider Troupe: 2 Jetbikes, 2 Vypers, 2 Shining Spears (Anti-tank screen) 200) Far Rider Troupe: 2 Jetbikes, 2 Vypers, 2 Swooping Hawks (Anti-infantry scout screen) 300) Swords of Fate Troupe: 4 Falcons, 1 Firestorm, 2 Dire Avengers (close-in Assault support) 330) Swords of Fate Troupe: 2 Fire Prisms, 2 Falcons, 1 Firestorm, 2 Dark Reapers (More longer-ranged fire support) 125) Relic Hunters Troupe: 5 Rangers 300) Aircraft: 3 Nightwing Interceptors
=== 3000 pts, 10 Activations. No Artillery, War Engines, Wraithgate, nor transport for most of the Infantry. Will likely rely more on "TSNP" and "DTF" than being as offensive as Eldar usually are.
Now for the second list, which sought to remedy the Wraithgate and Mobility issues in List 1.
Option 2, 3000 Points 225) Crone World Raiders Warhost: 1 Farseer, 5 Guardians, 2 Dark Reapers w/ 1 Exarch 325) Crone World Raiders Warhost: 1 Farseer, 5 Guardians, 2 Dire Avengers w/ 1 Exarch, 2 Wraithguard 375) Daughters of the Crone Warhost: 8 Howling Banshees w/ 1 Autarch and 1 Exarch 200) Aircraft: 1 Vampire Raider (to deliver the Banshees) 400) Skeins of Fate Troupe: 4 Night Spinners, 1 Firestorm 400) Skeins of Fate Troupe: 4 Night Spinners, 1 Firestorm 300) Aircraft: 3 Nightwing Interceptors 275) Aircraft: 1 Vampire Hunter (my big flying War Engine) 445) Deathwalker Troupe: 1 Farseer, 3 Guardians, 4 Wraithguard, 3 Wraithlords (BTS) 50) Wraithgate
=== 2995 pts, 9 Activations. Infantry- and Artillery-heavy, lacking Jetbike and Scout screens
So the 2 lists look very different. The army has some neat potential, and I wanted to see what I could come up with that might differentiate this from the other lists I have used, while maintaining some of the things that have worked for me in the past.
I am learning that larger infantry units are working better for me than originally thought. Getting them into cover offers them more survivability, and especially with the Wraithguard, really gives them fangs.
Night Spinners in groups of 4 gives that extra template, and allows some very mobile firepower. I think this could be more damaging than a similarly sized Swords of Vaul unit, and who doesnt love Disrupt?
I always prefer flying fortresses to vulnerable land-bound War Engines, so the Vampire Hunter is perfect. If this had the Saim-Hann "2 for 500" I'd be on that like white on rice.

So, how different do my lists look from what you'd come up with?
