That's not a bad idea actually. The SM book should be very generic and chapter specific stuff perhaps a separate book.

Would make the book a bit more manageable, plus the main marine book would cover the Ultramarines, since they are supposed to the basis for all other chapters. Then depending on how people wanted to do it, you could start with a book just covering the most recognisable First Founding Chapters like Space Wolves, Blood Angels, Dark Angels and Imperial Fists, then a second covering the more obscure First Founding Chapters, so, White Scars, Salamanders, Iron Hands, and Raven Guard then further ones covering the later Foundings and more obscure ones like Crimson Fists, Black Templars, Flesh Tearers, Lamenters, Mentors etc.
