Hi!

Summary

1. Genestealers cost increased to 175

2. Hierophant "chassis" cost increased to 525, lower move to 20cm

3. Hierodule "chassis" increase cost to 400

4. Biocannons, remove AA abilities, can fire at standard penalty at fliers.

5. Zoanthrope, gains AA ability. TSM depends on range from target.

- 0-25cm: tsm -6
- 26-50cm: tsm -4
- 51-75cm: tsm -2

6. Regeneration card; this card will regenerate as much wounds as the unit initial wound number (on a dominatrix, card will regenerate a maximum of 4 wounds). On Bio-Titans, still regenerate 1D6 wounds.

7. The rules for the ripper tentacles on bio titans are incorrect and will be reworded to:

"A bio-titan armed with ripper tentacles increases the difficultly for infantry and non super heavy vehicles to engage it in close combat. Each functioning ripper tentacle that the bio-titan is armed with increases the probability of a hit by 1. This means that versus non-elite infantry and vehicles the number needed to hit would be 2+ for one tentacle (standard to hit is 3+) or 1+ for two or more ripper tentacles (this means an automatic hit most cases). For elite units the value would be 3+ (standard value to hit is 4+) when armed with one ripper tentacle (2+ when armed with two ripper tentacles and 1+ when armed with three or more ripper tentacles). The element hit must make an unmodified armor save as per the standard rules in the core rule book (page 47)."

Guessing that the Zoanthrope's Warp Blast is having its Range increased to 75cm, as otherwise the table above makes no sense at all.

Hi Peter,

as the NetEpic Gold convention is coming by few weeks now, could it be possible to correct following typos in the current Tyranid Army Book ?

- Remove Exocrine "Anti-aircraft" from Exocrine description on page 11
- Remove Exocrine "AA ability" from Exocrine stats Notes on page 24
- Update Hierophant move from Hierophant stats Move on page 25
- Update Bio-Titan costs on table at top of page 16: Hierodule should be 400 and Hierophant 525

Extra thingy:
- Playing Hive Mind Cards on page 6:
could it be possible to place somewhere a sentence indicating that cards that indicate "Play on: ...Tyranid brood" can not be played on a "Bio-Titan brood". This would prevent players from facing a Hierophant Brood with Adrenalin Surge ( extra Command special ability), Energy Immunity (extra 4+ fixed save) and Overdrive ( triple mouvement on charge). Those cards can not be played on a single titan as their card title does not contain "Brood" but nothing prohibit from using them on "Hierodule/Hierophant Brood" formations.

Quick one regarding Exocrines losing the AA ability;

Was looking though the discussion thread and can't see where/when this was decided (is it because they have a 'bio-cannon' as their weapon type?)

If they no longer have the AA ability (which i can understand as it would mean they would suffer a penalty to target non-skimmers/flyers) AND they don't have 'Turret' feature, then they can no longer target fliers, at any time?

And as none of the units have the 'turret' feature on their weapons does this mean the only non-infantry unit that can target fliers is the Zoanthrope?

EDIT: OK, found the discussion on it - sounds fair enough, but probably should be noted in the Army book that although they don't have the 'AA' or 'Turret' ability, they can still target fliers at -1 when on First-Fire (one of the next revision i guess!)

Harridan is a floater and as all floaters have a 360° arc of fire, Harridan can target fliers too.

The problem with the previous rule "all bio-cannons are AA", there many units that were AA:

- Dominatrix
- Exocrines
- Harridan
- Titan Bio Cannons

Maybe the AA ability was picked a bit too often with the idea "it can shoot at flyers too" but AA ability involves way more things than just this.

Now, Zoanthropes become a true "AA" unit for the nids, and they will be back on the tables, this was not the case at all in the past, Exocrines were always prefered and a "must have" unit.

Yep, that makes total sense - and its good to give the Zoanthropes a purpose/make the exocrines less OP.

Might be worth noting for the next revision of the Army book to include the 'can still target fliers in its fire arc, with a -1 to-hit penalty on First-fire' - As without this, and going purely by the rules only infantry and units with 'turret' weapons can do this, and someone playing without seeing this thread could miss this rule.

And also to ammend the 'Bio-Cannon' blurb in the 'Bio-Titan Weapons' section of the book too, as it still says;

"Bio-Cannon: Bio-cannon are similar to the multi-orifice weapons mounted
on Exocrine. These are extremely powerful against titans and any damaging
hit against a hit location template will add +1 to the damage roll.
Bio-Cannon is fast tracking weapons and is considered anti-aircraft for purposes
of firing on thrusters.

The titan bio-cannon can still fire on ground units without penaltys and target at fliers without penalty.

"Is considered" may be confusing but it's to allow this.

Hi,

i've printed off the Templates for the Pyro-Acid spray etc, but just want to check the dimensions (as i'm guessing it might have been skewed with the paper size conversion etc..)

the template i printed is 22cm long, and 9cm wide as the widest point?

the energy pulse is ~11.5cm x ~3cm

i suspect these are off, as the GW templates were normally nice round numbers!

anyone got the originals to hand to compare?
