Hi Guys,
That's one of the things I've learned since trying to do naval warfare at 6mm:
Don't be scale dependent!
1/200, 1/300, 1/500 is all fine when you take in the bigger picture and as long as the models are painted, noone complains.
Oddly scaled toys and trinkets often end up being the best place to go for good models.
The recent Matchbox Hero City line has had some great vehicles: a firefighting hovercraft, an AWACs flier, a speedboat, a tug and many others.
Some of my favorite boats have been kit-bought or were conversions: Dollar Store fishing trawlers that were converted, larger scale (1/500 and 1/600) plastic destroyers, small pewter "whaling" boats, fishing boats from a "charms" set, lots of plastic baots and submarines from 99 Cent Store packages...
And my favorite: An old Hot Wheelz container ship that fits E-A IG Superheavy tanks and... OGREs!
So, really, the idea is look out for appropriate hulls and later convert them.
Almost all of my Israeli and Arab missile boats were created this way.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

Hi Guys,
As a side note, I'd like to report that the MEGA-TRADE with Dalton is now done. I've paid for everything and we're happy with the exchange! Omayn!
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

Quote (MaksimSmelchak @ 05 2005 June,08:52) | ...he sent me a whole collection of odd things including some pieces from an OOP game called Ronin War, which really impressed upon me a great look for the new E-A AMTL Playtest list... |
I am glad that the box arrived OK. I kept seeing things like the Ronin stuff and thinking, "Maksim would like this".
I hope it all arrived in good shape. I tried to pack it well, but I know how things go with the Post Office. ?

Oh and the 28mm stuff is for you to pass on to whom ever you think will us it.

?
It came alright, but some of the ships seem to be borken... although I'm guessing you got them that way.
Dafrca: *** What did you think of the buildings? ***
I like them.
*** Where did those little building come from? ***
I have some other buildings near this scale (around 1/600) that came with Godzilla figurines...
Speaking of which, my sister and I rented movies and they had an overflow sale so I bought "Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla" for $5.00 USD today...

Metal Magic made some great minis in their day. I hear that they're being reissued as well.
Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.
Cool! Drooool...... ?

I'll have Dalton's second parcel ready by end of the week.
