Any Half-Life players here? Well, even if there aren't, then I still think you should get excited about Half-Life 2!!
For those not in the know, Half Life is a first person shooter PC game, with a fantastic storyline and settings.. it is IMO (and many other peoples ), the best game ever, and this looks as if it could top it!!
Some good links:
The Planet Half-Life site section on it
And, Gamespy's First Look

Hmmm...I am not a big FPS fan. It looks like they are going in the right direction. Looks like they increased the poly count and improved texture maps considderably. I just think video games still look like crap. It'll be some time before they get any better. They will just keep adjusting the prestent technolgies for a while. What I would like to see is some attention to movement and behavior dynamics. Everything is still a little on the stiff side. Also, characters still seem to wander around games like zombies. I guess it is a question if where you want to allocate your computers resources. It is always a sexier to push the graffix than to spend time on how the AI will control the surrounding area. I guess the is why it is better that games are networked together. I don't know. I am just waiting for something newer in a video game. We seem to be getting the same games in new packages. They are like movies now. With soundtracks and all. We are all doomed.

Signius- you may want to look at this, scroll down to "straight from the source", it tells you about the physics coding that Valve have done, do improve stuff like this...

When I feel the need to shoot something, I go to a shooting range.
I tend to lean towards games that are epic-like. C&C, empire earth and the like.

I used to play Command And Conquer Red Alert 2 and Yuris revenge. Such classic games.
As for the Star Wars games on the Gamecube, I have Rogue Squadron and Clone Wars. They are the best. The others aint too good at all.
Cheers
Chris

Hi!
I cant stand real time games. I feel like the "game plays itself" and I have no real control. I love turn based games like panzer general and CIV, but have continuously bought and brought back to thestore for a refund every single real time game I have bought.
Different strokes for different folks.
