Well I did say; (then called a 'Prisim cannon' iirc)
...you're too precise for your own good Mojarn... :;):

Yep. but prism cannon is not the same thing as a fire prism. Fire prism was introduced as Eldar AA platform whereas a Prism  Cannon was an interesting tank hunter: you could fire at another fire prism which could then fire at yet another and so on. The last one to fire would transfer all the previous hits to the target.
:)

Ah, I see...
I've only used Fire Prisims in 40k where they are solely tank hunters (albeit with blast template etc), and this was what I understood them to be in Epic... looking at my E:A unit summary I see they also have AA capablity...

I also bow down to your ancient wisdom...  :;):

(I guess it was in that same version...) Fire prisms were good because of that because they could be hiding behind whatever scenery element that ws around. They did hit each other in that way and the last one lurked over the border of the scenery piece and fired. Return fire could only affect that one fire prism tank, so the formation was mostly safe from enemy fire while blowing your baneblades way. Or so I have been told. I have never played epic.

Hopefully with release of the Eldar rules Jervis will do an equivalency list as they did with the SMs, Orks and IG.  I believe they will... But in the mean time, we can work it out amongst our gaming crews ! :D

From reading the rabid in-fighting on the GW Epic board, I suspect a published list maybe a little time away.

I seem to recall that a published list was due in September, but looking at the posts from "fans", I suspect there is still a lot to be done with the lists.

Never seen such petty tit-for-tat posting in all my life...

One of the things I learned from the Playtest was that just because the "fanboys" were fighting did not mean Jervis had not already made up his mind.  :L

In fact, that is why I left the playtest site. It was fun when we offered Jervis ideas and opinions and then let him come up with the final format. Once it started to turn into multi-page attacks on each other (or in a few cases even against Jervis) I knew it was my time to bow out.  :l

Hi!

I read that forum regularly. The Eldar army list has gotten quite intense with some pettiness involved.

The sort of behavior only tells GW/Fanatic that sometimes its better just to design things and leave the fanboys out of it.... :;):

You are a better man than I. I can not go there and subject myself to all the rubish. Sad when you think of how much fun that board was at one time.  :L

Sadly that was what was to be expected... As the game gains in popularity it is bound to atttract more and more morons which will have some effect on the overall tone on the boards.
I read the forums regularly but contribute less and less. If there's some bit of info I can be helpfull with, I post it but I prefer not to get drawn into the discussions there anymore.
I understand how the Playtesters forum was created as a usefull tool for Jervis and the Fanatic team to help them in their development of the game. Too many people seem to have gotten the idea that Epic is now THEIR game and that it is THEIR vision of Epic which everyone else must bend to.

...oh well enough bitching from me. ...Now to get some breakfeast:p

Cheers!:)

Hi!

Words of wisdom wasmaster. You can now understand why netepic has kept the mailing list and all other related material under tight control. All to often people who have done little for epic or latecomers with bigger mouths think they can highjack such projects and push out the people who really make it worthwhile.

Cant say I care much regarding that forum. As long as this one remains under the influence of CS and all of you who post here regularly, thats all I need!
