No one is testing so nothing is happening. It's probably baked and just needs some tuning to go Approved but without bat reps, it goes nowhere.

What's the status on Cadian list?

E&C (one of the earlier Cadian Army Champions) has a draft of the next version* for comment.

*I’m of the view the Cadian list needs to take a step backwards before it can go forwards so it’s more of a proposal/intervention. The list seems to be in an awkward position since it’s seen it’s “final iteration” far too many times but the problems of activation (Kasrkin) spam still haven’t been addressed making it easily abused.

Sufficed to say, it’s the current focus!

To be fair, the 1.5 thread has been locked since the end of 2019.
I took this list to Cancon in Jan 2020, really enjoyed it, but kinda lost any motivation to batrep or comment as it was clear there was a new version coming and any commentary prior to this was no longer welcome.
5 games in the comp, plus a handful of practice runs, would have had my six to submit...

Now it may sound like I'm spitting the dummy here, but I have an issue with testing 1.5.x or whatever when the forum for feedback has been locked for the best part of a year, and the apparent "new" version is not available for us mere mortals to view

Feedback is always helpful and we try not to make anyone feel unwelcome.

Use of the Cadian list at tournaments provides great data but is a problem in terms of community expectations, it’s not an approved list and the final will not have 175pt Kasrkin as a core choice making many armies look totally different to what’s being frequently used. This is why I put the breaks on, but it wasn’t intended there’d be no action for so long, 2020 hasn’t gone to plan. Sorry everyone!

Honestly if you remove core Kasrking formations this list is lost for me, that's the thing that makes it unique it my opinion. You can have small but tough stormtrooper fromations as a core choice unlike in any other guard list, and I know that activation spam is a problem especiall witj sentinels, so I have been kinda wondering how to cut it down, how about limiting sentinels to one per core formation? I just can't imagine this list not having Kasrkin as a core choice.

Hold on to your hats.... this is what I'm proposing:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/m0tfaf8txjehzbs/Cadians%20ver2.0.pdf?dl=0

It's a relatively big change which is why I wanted to run it by some people before potentially stepping out in front of a baying mob!

Yes, your core section will cost more, but there's some fairly major buffs and discounts elsewhere so please read through it thoroughly, i.e. Kasrkin now have Teleport.

Hmm I think I like it, but core formation Kasriks won't be able to teleport right? So wouldn't giving them scout be a bigger upgrade, maybe even too big?
I hope that this can bring some discussion and push the list forward.

The intent is that the unmounted Kasrkin available as a support formation will be able to use their Teleport ability; Teleporting core formations are for another list.

Cadia is my main army and I based my collection on the usual list. I didn't know it was going to change like that (+ super expensive Stormlords for Kasrkin now?). I proposed some solutions to spam on the proper thread... Anyway, I'm going to playtest ASAP.

My phone doesn't like that pdf, will have to look on the pc at a more sensible hour.
From what I could read it's a disappointing but not unexpected change from 1.5
I'm certainly willing to give it a run and see if it compares to the 1.5 experience, or feels like a totally different army.

Thanks for the responses so far. A new thread has been started for Cadian discussion.

Is there advice anywhere on how to best share documents and images on Taccoms? Or can anyone offer any?

I’m hoping the proposed changes will not invalidate any collections.

*sigh* Well that’s what I’ve done, but I’ve always found Taccoms a bit fiddly and the results varied. There’s several ways to skin a cat though and I thought someone might be able to share some helpful experience.

I generally post from an iPhone.

Now it has come to my attention that compared to Cadians Elysians are quite overpriced while being basically a wore verion of Kasrkins.
So maybe the Elysian list could take the role of stormtrooper heavy list, focusing more on smaller infanty fromations.
