It will be interesting to see whether any new players come across this way - given that EUK tourny player details are in the public domain - it will be known in time. I'm doubtful though because E:A is better (i.e. more enjoyable, strategic and competetive) played with combined arms and at least 10 activations . AT as a concept exists because epic doesn't handle titans well. epic is too simplified. I don't know if the AT rules are any good but it makes more sense for those of us with a bunch of warlords and changeable weapons that never get used to play AT than for people with big new titans to use them in E:A.

As the resident cynic and bitter old person, the AT18 rules have been a really pleasant surprise. I'm not keen on the fiddly maniple or legio-specific rules, but the game mechanics are better than I ever expected. It's a game that'll certainly get played. I wholly agree on the rest of your points though, it's a much better system for doing what it was designed for, rather than E:A which rather strains under the weight of so much heavy metal.

Could be worth mentioning the codex / plugging the Epic UK tournaments as an alternative extra use of people's AT collection on the AT facebook group?

The mods might delete the post, I'm not sure, but could be worth a try? I put a post advertising Epicomp on there before and was surprised they deleted the post.

Out of curiosity, what's the reasoning behind the Questoris' Gatling Cannon? With reduced range and AP6/AT6 I can't see ever taking it over the Battle Cannon with AP4/AT4, even with lower RoF.

The Battlecannon maybe has the edge, but it is marginal.

And when sitting on an objective and sustaining I know what I'd prefer to have.

Unless the target is in the open, it's not the Gatling Cannon. ;D

Running the numbers for the expected outcomes, the Gatling Cannon isn't as bad as I'd thought, but given the extra range the Battle Cannon still beats it overall by quite a margin.

Rapid Fire Battle Cannon (RFBC) vs Knight Gatling Cannon (KGC):

Code:
Modifiers     RFBC       KGC
+1 to hit     1.67 hits  2 hits
straight      1 hit      1 hit
-1 to hit     0.67 hits  0.5 hits
-2 to hit     0.33 hits  0.33 hits

So in the best-case scenario for the KGC (Sustain against a target in the open within 45cm) it gets about 20% more hits, but some of the most common situations in the game have a -1 mod (Double against a target in the open, Advance against a target in cover) and the RFBC gets about 30% more hits.

The -2 results surprised me, but that's the non-linear nature of cumulative -1 modifiers on standard dice and second rolls...

The Adeptus Titanticus 2018 group is completely toxic. Don't even bother. I'll post it in the other AT groups I am part of.

Advice please - what do people think is the best close combat weapon for a long range Blitzguard Reaver? I'm torn between the +3 MW Chainfist or the +2 TK(D3) Powerfist. I'll probably paint them up before testing them out.

I'd recommend the Powerfist as ,for me, it would be a bit more of a deterrent to Terminators and other CC orientated Titans.
