What I loved about GorkaMorka was the insane modeling potential. It seems the modern GW stuff, whilst all being plastic, seems to kinda take that away. It's weird...almost paradoxical.

I don’t actually agree. I think the vehicles get a nice ramshackle/mad max feel. An evolution of Orks of old. However the infantry have lost the humour element they once had and I think that’s a shame. From being slightly comical nutters who want a fight to war bent virus spreading across the universe intent on dominance

It's not so much the ramshackle feel I'm referring to. It's the whole converting model madness. GorkaMorka was all about converting all sorts of funky vehicles and units. Whilst nowadays everything is in plastic, and allows for great potential, the way the kits are done make it a bit too easy to ignore that. I know, it's kinda weird...#firstworldproblems

Yeah mixed feelings about these. The models are amazing but removing the ability to easily pose or convert them is disappointing.

Ahh ok I get your point. With a full enough spares box and the talent on here I am sure that conversions won’t be an issue! The rules are supposed to be quite simplistic too

The itch GW probably want to scratch is this:

People are doing some really amazing things, so it isn't really an issue. :)

From what I can see there is only vehicles in that game, you can't knock guys off a truck, and them have them fight it out, while grabbing loot and scrambling back on.

So its more like deathrace, or gaslands(as said above). Gorka morka, to me, was all about the mixture of a few individuals, with just a couple of vehicles barely keeping them moving.

I think a very good move by GW to have a vehicle only game, It shows a different move that seems like a good one , as posted by one of the folks above it seems to be a hit at taking a shot at such things like gas lands etc.

I love gorka morka and the idea based around it, but we can always just buy/get the rules and use other vehicles etc, even 6mm gorka morka ;)

I am happy that GW are putting games out like this though to get new blood into the hobby as not everybody is intrested in squad based stuff, but mad max style stuff seems like a step in the right direction.

As always, GW is not exactly pushing the envelope, leaving bleeding edge to others to try to capitalize, capture and, if lucky, monopolize once things take off. I think some GW-die hards might go for this, but having played the real thing, I honestly cannot say I understand why on earth anyone would prefer this to Gaslands. Break the shackles! Buy and distort hot wheels and feed what is left of the inner hobbynerd of your youth :D.
