I've been thinking about putting together a knight force for a while, mostly because I like the little guys, but also because AMTL is a bit one dimensional and boring to play and really has no place to go without a massive overhaul of some core concepts. I think that Knights would help scratch the big stompy robots itch while still being fun to play.

I put together a bit of a list but I'm not sure what would be best to spend the remainder of the points on. I kind of think the AA emplacements sound good and could garrison which is nice, but I also like the idea of having a howitzer detachment. However, I'm leaning toward 2x tbolts because I think that would provide the best AA overall.

My plan is to use the crusaders and two paladin detachments as fire support while the lancers and errants do most of the killing.

Code:
Incompertus, 3000 POINTS
Knight World (NetEA v2.2.2 *APPROVED*)
==================================================

KNIGHT HOUSEHOLD [505]
5 Knight Paladin, Seneschal

KNIGHT HOUSEHOLD [555]
Seneschal, 5 Knight Errant

KNIGHT HOUSEHOLD [590]
4 Knight Paladin, Baron

LANCER HOUSEHOLD [325]
3 Knight Lancer, Seneschal

LANCER HOUSEHOLD [325]
3 Knight Lancer, Seneschal

CUSTODIAN HOUSEHOLD [400]
3 Knight Crusader, Seneschal

ROUGH RIDER PLATOON [150]
6 Rough Riders

THUNDERBOLT SQUADRON [150]
2 Thunderbolt Fighters

Any thoughts on this?

In the games I've played 3-Knight formations break way too easily. Except for Custodians, I always field formations of at least 4 Knights. I like the idea of having non-Knight formations, especially howitzers and AA in emplacements, but I've have better success fielding just Knights and Thunderbolts.

So drop the paladins to 4's and up the lancers to 4's and take tbolts?

That's what I would do.

My opinion is that your Activation count is a bit low as well, makes you open to crossfire and you being engaged instead of the other way around.

The list I just took to a local tourney here in Aus was :

Incompertus, 2995 POINTS
Knight World (NetEA v2.2.2 *APPROVED*)
==================================================

KNIGHT HOUSEHOLD [530]
Baron, 3 Knight Errant

KNIGHT HOUSEHOLD [455]
4 Knight Errant, Seneschal

CUSTODIAN HOUSEHOLD [375]
3 Knight Crusader

Mard, did you find that the seneschels weren't that useful on your formations and did the three unit formations break too easily on you?

This is a list i would run. The BTS guards the blitz/backfield together with one of the AA-formations. Garrison both lancers far up the board.
Then assault, assault, assault!

How do you garrison the lancers? They are WE and well over the speed limit for garrisoned formations.

Ah, I missed that Lancers had scout. That's pretty cool then.

I'm noticing you guys have a lot of AA in these lists, do you face a lot of air in your games? For me I don't know that I'd need more than two tbolts tops.

Are you going Slaanesh with this and do I really want to know what variant of knight this is?

The AA provides cheap activations as well as AA in a list that tends to build to a lower activation count. AA battery is the cheapest activation in the list, Tbolts are cheap and generally useful.

Heavy air is pretty common in the New England circle. The Coach is the only one who seems not to bother with air or AA.
