Hello,
We played a game yesterday and we came across some puzzling situations during shooting.
I hope to find some clarification here.

Situation:
Shooting with a 6x P(4+)/A(8+) against a mixed group of one soft and multiple hard targets.
The soft target stood in front.

The usual rules for targeting tell us to place hits from front to back. So the soft unit was hit with the first shoot. Most of the remaining 5 dices missed by now as they were to hit the hard units and had to roll for an 8+ now.
The soft unit survived as it was able to defend against the single hit.

It felt strange that the weapon which is specialized on soft targets was ineffective against a single soft target.

Did we do something wrong?
Would the misses against a hard target still be hits against soft targets in this case?
Can the attacker choose to target only soft targets?
If the attacker would not have a AV to attack soft targets would this prevent shooting against a mixed formation with a soft target in front?

With kind regards,
Athistaur

Thanks,
That helps a lot.do you happen to know where this is mentioned in the rules?
Or is it a common errata?

Thanks,
Athistaur

Excellent Q's we'll need to add clarification to the rulebook.
