Hi all - not sure if this is the right place for this, but I have heard that for the CI & Helbore models GW re-purposed third party model tank tracks for the plastic tracks/wheels. Does anyone know if these track parts (with or without attached tank) are still available from the "third party" manufacturer, or a roughly similar sized track from a separate manufacturer?

Those tracks are from a 1/72 scale M113 APC from Italieri ... IIRC ...

Actually, it's from the 1/76 M113 from JB Models (a UK company), not Italieri.

Even better! The previous kit was a bugger to find on the interwebz (although I haven't checked on if this one is still for sale...)

EDIT: It is still on sale and is relatively cheap as well.

I don't see why not if it is close to the right size ... Or IIRC Onslaught is going to bring out something that might work as well or better ... viewtopic.php?f=126&t=23815&start=105

The grud are on a hiatus to do a rethink on the approach so I'd not wait around on it.
That 28mm Dystopian Wars is a great find! Plasticard roof, gribbly bits and tech bling and you're all set. If you do it then please make sure you do a build thread on it!

Hi!

That would be an interesting proxy, although it still needs a fair bit of modification. The central core looks good.

Yeah it's a project and a half. It actually looks to be a good base for something resembling the Warmaster Nice build from ages past.

edit: for those that don't know what I am referring to :

You will be surprised how big it is - too big for a Capitol Imperialis.
The comparison.

I respectfully disagree. It's like many things fan driven (such as SWR and the MWR), fits more in the true scale arena. I've got both and my GW one is only around for collector purposes. :)

I understand the true scale argument but not at the expense of making everything else redundant. I posted the comparison shots so there would be no surprises for anyone who buys one. I use mine as a battle fortress with titan weapons.
Would be interested to see a conversion that is used as a Capitol Imperialis. Photo please Jimmy ?
