Hi!

Status Update:

If you choose to "lead" a particular army, just post a message on the respective army thread as to where you are on reading the books for corrections and such.

This is just to get an idea to see where we are all at. :)

Question regarding Frateris Militia.

Seeing as the Guard are having their Command Rhinos upgraded to Chimera, should we do the same with the Frateris? From my perspective, the Frateris is to the Sisters much like the Guard is to the Marines. It's not an exact equivalency, just a similarity. This would be simpler, as it's only a matter of Company HQ units and Special formations that would be affected.

In a related question, should the Sisters retain use of Rhinos? I'd say yes, as even though they are not quite Marines, they are a armored fighting force.

Hi!

I agree on both counts Magnus. Sisters should retain rhinos (female space marines) and the frateris should have chimeras.

Hi!

I have some modelling projects that I am working on and one of them is to have the Emperor and and his Custodes Guard in epic scale.

As I begin to ponder some stats and such I wanted to ask what thoughts people have about the rules such a force should have.

I was thinking of a special formation or more likely a unique formation where any Imperial or Space marine army can bring that one unique formation to the table.

The more common one would just be Custodes guard as they are sometimes dispatched through the galaxy in the Emperor's business. They would be rare, sort of like the grey knights.

As far as mechanics and stats. Since they are linked to the Emperor (maybe even using his geneseed) how powerful should they be?

Probably as good as terminators in close combat. How about ranged weapons?

Any thoughts appreciated. :)

As a practising and committed fluffophobe I can offer very little help with this project.

I would only suggest that they do benefit from the swanky Inquisitor fixed 4+ armour.

Hi!

Net Epic Rules for Adeptus Custodes

The martial capabilities of the Adeptus Custodes remain largely unknown at the present time. What is known is that they possess skill beyond even a "normal" member of the Adeptus Astartes. It has been said that the Adeptus Custodes are to a Space Marine what a Space Marine is to a member of the Imperial Guard.

I will use this bit of background as my guiding principal in their development. ;)

General Rules for the custodes

All custodes have the following abilities

Elite
Fearless
Fixed Armored save (varies)
Inspirational
Psy save (varies)
Quickdraw

All custodes are special formations. Some are unique special formations (will be noted in description).

Lentum Foot Knight
They represent a lower tier of custodes. Some speculate they may be apprentice Custodes guard. But the Custodes keep such things to themselves. They are armed with melee weapons and shields and are determined shock troops.

Move 10cm
Armor save 5+ fixed
Psy save 5+
CAF +5
Weapons: Power weapon (sword, etc) and Lentum Shield, no ranged weapons
Special power: Shield of the Emperor. Any time the lentum knights are hit by ranged fire they may force the opponent to re-roll the attack dice (the lentum shield tries to blocks the attack). The second result is final however.

Special formation 4 stands of lentum knights. Cost 300 points. VP 3 Break point 2

Custodian Guard

They represent the iconic presentation of what Imperial citizens imagine what a custodes looks like. They are the most commonly seen custodes by the outsiders. In times of crisis they are armed with a bolter similar to that of the astartes will their command continues to use the traditional (if modified) glaive.

Move 10cm
Armor save 4+ fixed
Psy save 4+
CAF +6
Weapons Bolter
range 50cm
Attack dice 1
To hit 4+
Save modifier -1
Special Ability: Infiltration (as per net epic rules). Custodes are trained in the blood games and are thus trained in infiltration tactics

special formation 4 stands 350 points. VP 4 break point 2

Custodes Command
Veteran custodes whom also obtain the command and HQ abilities (as per net epic rules)

Move 10cm
Armor save 4+ fixed
Psy save 4+
CAF +8
Weapons power Glaive
range 50cm
Attack dice 2
To hit 4+
Save modifier -1
Special Ability: Infiltration (as per net epic rules). Custodes are trained in the blood games and are thus trained in infiltration tactics. Command are masters of infiltration and stealth. They also gain the stealth ability (as per net epic rules).

special formation 4 stands cost 400 points. VP 4 Break point 2

Aquila terminators
Armed with superior armor and technology they put even the 1st company terminator veterans of other astartes chapters to shame.

Move: 10cm
Armor save: 3+ fixed
psy save 3+
CAF+9
Weapons: close combat and modified storm bolter
Range 35cm
Attack dice 3
To hit roll 3+
Save modifier -1
Special Ability: Deep strike. Due to advanced technology the teleport deep strike does NOT scatter.

special formation 4 stands. Cost 450 points. VP 5 Break point 2

The personal guard of constatine valdor. They are the elite of the custodes.

Constantine Valdor
The most trusted friend of the Emperor. First High Lord of terra and consummate protector of the master of mankind!

In addition to standard custodes abilities he obtains, infiltration, stealth Elite with re-rolls on all rolls. HQ and Command.

Move 15cm
Armor save 3+ fixed
Psy save 2+
CAF +12
Weapons Emperor's Vengeance (unique glaive )

The Emperor possess any all all abilities that can apply to infantry as per the core rule list of abilities.

All the emperor's attacks count as psychic attacks.

Move 20cm

Emperor's mercy functions as space marine medic ability with 25cm. However the roll for success is 3+ Only applies to infantry.

Unique formation (only one of its kind can be fielded during a battle). Cost 600 VP 6. break point model.

Unique formations

These formation are one of a kind. If one of these formations is used no other unique or special custodes formation can be used.

Emperor and body Guard
This formation consists of the Emperor and constantine valdor with his Ares guard

Cost 1250 VP 13, break point 3+1 (7VP and 6VP)

Legio Custodes

The legion consists of one of all the above:
Emperor
Constantine valdor and Ares guard
1 Aquila terminator squad
1 Custodian guard squad
1 Custodian command
1 Lentum knight squad

Cost 2750 VP 28, break point 11 + 1 + 1(the two separate ones are for the Emperor and constantine, award VP separately for those two).

Simply put these guys are an army onto themselves. I wonder how effective they would be..... ;)

Commentary welcome.

Should add this stuff to the AdMech list! It's gold :D

Seriously though, perhaps if you are doing the Emperor you might want to do a Epic30K list and include all the Primarchs too. I dont think he has a place in NetEpic proper.

Let me guess your expanding the Primarchload to include all 20 complete Legions along with Primarchs?

On a more serious note I'd recommend basing the Sisters list more on Onslaught than GW due to the fact Onslaught games seems more interested in supporting them.

Hi!

Onslaught has its own place in the queue, its just further down due to the size of what's cooking.

The tyranid expansion alone will keep deacon pretty busy.... ;)
