I see, I'll try to come out with an alternative prow design then!

I'm afraid I have nothing new to post for the moment, since I've had a bit of a family crisis, but something will come very soon!

Out of simple curiosity, if I were to put just one of my designs for sale on Shapeways, what would you like it to be?

I would love to see some loyalist versions of the Chaos designs, especially the Despoiler and Iconoclast Destroyer.

However, I'd imagine that larger ships could become rather expensive...

Loyalist style chaos ships you say? Interesting, I've started working on some "imperialish" chaos escorts a while ago, I'll try and post some pics!

Larger ships tend to be quite costly, even making them as "empty" as possible... As a frame of reference, the 2 Strike cruisers would be around 40€ for the couple in FUD, while the Repulsive (which is roughly 13 cm long, I think), would be something more than 60€...

I haven't tried FD, so I don't know how would the detail come out; in this material, the prices would be roughly 30€ for the strike cruisers and roughly 45€ for the grand cruiser!

Hmm, perhaps smaller ships then? How about some Crusade/Heresy era stuff?

Heresy Era! Of course! That could be interesting, I think... Do you guys have something in mind?

I know Grimdarkbits has some Heresy era stuff, do you guys have some more source material on heresy era ships?

There's little out there but do check out the BFG books (the BBB in particular) and Blind's Heavy Frigate thread.
Think more graceful curves and sleek and you'll do fine I expect :D

Hi guys!

Ok, I decided to take the plunge, and put something up for sale on Shapeways; it’s not much for now, but I’ll add more stuff soon!

Now, since my posts are pointless without pictures, here’s something I’ve been working on lately, a reimagined Iconoclast.

I know it’s a bit fat, but it’s only 3cm long! (ok, that sounded better in my head…)

What do you guys think? Should I make it thinner?

Here some discussions on Crusade/Heresy era BFG stuff that might interest you:
1) BFG rules for 30k
2) Modeling ships of the Great Crusade
3) Complete list of ships from the Crusade/Heresy

Oh my, inspiration overload!!!

Ok, all this help deserves to be rewarded....

To carry on with my theme of "I have no hope of taking a good picture of this model but I'll try anyway", here's the latest model I painted: a demiurg frigate!

I know it's stretching the background a bit, but I wanted to try it! I'm planning to use them as xenos vessels in a rogue trader fleet, but I suppose they could also be used as nicassar dhows!

Here's the pics:

Wow...really awesome! If I were you I'd play a bit with the design. Add that kinda Homeworld vibe in there, like this, but still keep it sort of Demiurg.

Stop tempting me!

Just kidding, I love the inspiration, and I'll certainly make a new version of the frigate in that style! :)

I'm thinking about keeping the demiurg "texture", but with a round shape instead of triangular, and the two "tails" on the back bearing the engines...

Keeping the central "tower" more separate from the body should look good... And it would allow me to make the larger crafts in that style, too!

Maybe that tower could be like a city of a sorts, see these frigates as mini city ships or something!

Awesome but a bit pricy. Is it possible to hollow them out or make them small like this guy?

Also, looking forward if you could make a starfort
