If I wanted to print out a copy of some none copyrighted rules, perhaps very similar to the EA rules, but defiantly not the EA rules as Grandma Wendy frowns on that, is there any advice on the printing that anyone can share?

I'm looking to print everything out on the in-laws printer, so I only have one shot at doing it- I dont want to have to print 200+ pages (I intend to grab a few other parts at the same time, including some of the fanzine articles and stuff!) and then have to ask to use it again because it didn't fit on the page or have it come out in Greek or have so small my getting-older eyes cant read it or something! Im pretty tech savy but bar one or two letters I have never used printing (thus why I do not own my own and I'm having to do this on theirs!!)

Im hoping its a case of print and prey, but if there is anything that will improve my printing experience, I'l be most grateful! ;)

I want it too be able to read it whilst stuck at work, and able to have a reference to take in to our new, no where near ready, game room but with out the hassle of dragging my tower in their to read it! ;)

If you intend to print double sided using a printer that does not have a duplexing unit (auto double sided printing, your average home printer needs manual double sided where you flip the pages instead) but intent to double sided print then check before you print 200 pages that you are 100% sure you know which way round to flip and/or rotate the pages after they have been printed on one side before going for the second side. Otherwise you end up with it printed upside down on the back, or both sides printed on top of each other etc.

i would recommend 2 pages to 1 a4 side. halves the page count again and is very convienient for reading on the train.

Take it to a proper print shop though - the quality is worth the 5 quid it'd be.

Buying those little sheet protectors so you can dump it in a binder is a good idea too. I printed all my epic and BFG that way and am quite pleased.

Thanks for the responses.. I braved the first few pages and they turned out nice! I have to restock on plastic protectors, and files, as I have the epic rule books and all the extras (as well as the new mayhem game) and I want to hit them all out in the next couple of days!

I did not dare shrink it down to double pages per a4 sheet- as convenient as it sounds I only read at work (at the lunch table) and would rather has some thing less strenuous on the eyeballs!

I have no idea how to go about the swordwind rules though- a)they seem to be double paged anyway and b)the whole page is yellow background- I have no idea how that will turn out on paper!

Swordwind – if you have access to acrobat pro you can delete the background image and also crop the pages down. Could do it in illustrator as well, but a bit of a fiddle. (also maybe possible if you are some sort of magical postscript or scripting god, no idea how)

Example here, only problem is the beveled unit info boxes are all part of the same object n the .pdf, so deleting the background deletes the bevel as well:

Example for demonstration purposes only …

All the Swordwind rules, stats and lists are in the tournament pack. That's all black and white with very few images.
