Hi MoK- from memory you were using MWR and SWR for your Legio. In which case I probably won't bring AMTL as my poor beatlebacks would be suffering from size envy. Anyway probably would only want one AMTL force so back to plan A of IG or SM (Blood Angels).

Cheers

James

@WI: hee hee! Can you record those shrieks?!

James: Don't worry about it fella: it really is a case of bringing down as many models as we can and organising them appropriately! Yes, I am using newer titans but the old one's just look lush too! If you have them paitned bring them along: all my Chaos titans are tiny ones!

OK- if it is maximum number of models then I already have painted 5k of IG and 4k of AMTL. Plus my TOEG Blood Angels and Titans that will be working on- posted up first WIP photos of new Titans.

yo MoK, sign me up. I'd have to use my Ulani tank list to be historically accurate, although I can bring Ultramarines if you want more SM players. I have 5k of each :)

I may have a friend who wants to come along; i'll send him this link.

Warning! Public Spitballing of Ideas!

hmm...If people are able to provide 5k armies then that's actually the design 'limit' of the tournament list. I was thinking about the fact that different force compositions are going to be moving at different speeds on the map thus making army design during the event crucial also:

Examples:
More than 50% move 15 and not transported: Speed 1
More than 50% of the force is move 20 or transported in move 20 vehicles: Speed 2
etc...with oppurtunities for 'marching' which give movement bonuses but battlefield penalties.

OR...

Seige/Cult Reginment: Move 1
Steel Legion/Tank regiment: Move 2
Space Marines: move 3
etc...

Could mean that some forces will not be in a position to engage each turn: so it might be useful if people are actually in control of 2 blips or more at once...THe grey knights army are going to be designed as a drop/teleport/t.hawk list so they may be controlled by 'spare' players each turn...as could chaos uprisings...hmm :-)

Just to give people an idea of how things might work out :-)

well the idea of working this into a holiday wasn't appreciated by my better half, but she has said she would consider giving me permission to come on my own...... is anyone planning on booking hotels/hostels etc or do you all live locally? perhaps one of the locals has a spare room they would consider 'renting' to me? PM me if you can help!

Hi Russ! (WoU), Good to have you on board buddy :-) I'm trying my best to get Steve down too so do pester him!

We haven't got a tank regiment taking part yet so that might be for the best.

Currently then:

Wannabe Imperials: (8)
Stu's Idle: Steel Legion
Cai: Steel Legion
WargamesInsomniac (James): Sttel Legion/AMTL
Jonluke: Tanks/Seige/AMTL
Reedar (Darren): Space Marines
Nat (Horatio): Steel Legion
Warrior of Ultramar (Russ): Tank Regiment
KyussinChains: Steeel Legion

Wannabe Chaos: (5)
Tompkin: Chaos Marines
Jon: Chaos Marines
Evil n Chaos (Ben): Evil AMTL/Chaos Marines
Bengar: Chaos Marines
Ryan: Cultists/Chaos Marines.

That put's us one provisional place out of being booked up.

Would any of the guard players consider playing as traitors? Especially if you've got a darker feeling army scheme or feel like modelling your new one up as something a bit different :-).

From what I can tell these are the number of armies currently on 'offer' from our total playerbase.

Steel Legion x 5
Siege Regiments x 2
Tank Regiments x 2
Space Marines x 3 (no space wolves!)
+1 Grey Knights
AMTL x 3
Total Armies:

CSM's x 5
Cults x 1
CMTL x 1

hmm...

I can't offer a spare room these days but there are a couple of good quality hostels very close to the store that I'd reccomend. For BWW i've always suggested people might want to book a geek dorm!

I was thinking last night that as this is not going to be a competitive tournament then that is good excuse to take stuff you would nt normally use in a 3K army. For example the only Titans I tend to use with IG/SM are Warhounds. And even with AMTL I struggle to use Warlords and use mainly Reavers supported by Warhounds.

This might be the excuse to get the big boys out. Especially if we are leaning towards 5K armies!

Cheers

James

After some questions about ATTRITION:

We won't be removing parts of formations, instead forces will lose a percentage of their points depending on how much damage they take in games. So, there's no possibility of having troops but no transports.

A simple formula might be:

Forces lose 50% of the total number of points that would be scored for victory purposes at the end of the game.

I.e. if you're opponent had dealt you 1000pts of 'damage' you'd lose 500 and would have to choose to drop formations in you're next game to roughly that amount.

CRUSHING victories: i.e. 5-0 games on turn 3, complete wipe outs etc...might reuslt in an army being removed from the campaign map (but there's no way that players can't ever take part: there's spare PDF forces etc but I do want commanders not to get too gung ho). The forces are scattered to the wind and their morale broken.

This also means that some players might choose to tactically withdraw and end games early. Speeds things up a bit!

There will be 'resource points' available to fix and raise new armies as the campaign goes on.

Note:

Interest is very high at the moment, as such I am going to step out of being an 'official' player and will instead be plugging gaps where need be and co-ordinating the campaign in general. I might man stationary Seige Lines or pop in as a chaos cult where need be but my primary aim is to deliver an excellent campaign experience. As such this means we've got another space available.

I am also toying with ideas of characterful rules for chain of command in both factions: The Imperium will need to work together as seperate forces: Imperial Guard players will meet and decide by consensus where to send their forces, The Space Wolves will either do their own thing or work in tandem whilst the secretive Grey Knights will be given tid bits of information from the enemy side and choose where to strike next!

The Chaos players will most likely be controlled primarily by Angron Himself! I'm tempted to dress Bengar (my fellow events co-ordinator) up in a big red suit but essentially he will act as a Tyrant: sending your armies where he wishes them! Don't like what he says: then it's time to DICE OFF!!! If you win Angron sees sense in your tactical acumen/allows your pitiful soul to skulk to where it wishes; if you lose: he slays X number of your men as a warning: start the next game with several formations blast markered for your impertinence!

There WILL be a rulespack release! I promise :-) I just need to get all these ideas down and discuss them with Ben first.
