Hi Folks,

Well a bit of an update with some re design work yet again to the mould ::) The building front in my last update was made in three sections and was a bit of a pain to glue together also i had not designed any sides for the building yet.

So with a lot more silicone i re made the mould to cast an entire front section in one piece also in that mould i put a side section, so with one cast i get half a building, so it just makes it easier to cast and assemble.

The next thing was to look at the roof, will all four bits glued together i just cut two bits of plasti card for the pointy roof section part and one piece per side slighty recessed so i can put little doods on the roof and they also get a bit of cover thrown in at teh same time ;)

Anyway here are some pictures im going to call it an administrum building ;D

As R . Dorn said to the artisan its quite asethically pleasing ;D Regards epic

Cheers for the comments guys, the pointy part i felt had to be done really or the building would look a little two plain, that said i still have the moulds for just the flat sections so will make some buildings to go in between these big buildings.

Next thing i have on the list to do are some mechanicum buldings they will also be based on the cathedral designs ;D but will have a few extra features i.e pipework and that big skulled badge i.e the one with the { targeter on one eye }all over the buildings but hopefully will still keep a nice gothic vibe with stonework etc and windows ;)

regards epic

long ones are too long to be practical (both storage and playing) but the middle one is tops

Hi epic i love your work, i had a question about what you use your making your molds. I have some bases that i want to mold like you mold your walls, do you have any products you recommend or tips? What do you use for the mold and what do you use for cast?

Thx for your help,
Blind-

Hi Blind,

For the moulds i use silicone RTV mould making rubber shore A30 avaiilble of ebay, Its samon pink in colour and is easy to mix, I dont measure the mixture just order what size i need and throw the hardner straight in and mix in one go, goes from white to pink when fully mixed. Its not cheap but easily the one of the better products as it flows very easily and air bubbles dont happen/ they make there own way out due to the chemical components used, its designed for people who dont have acess to vaccum tanks. Good product.

Resin, Easy flow 60 Liquid plastic polyurethane, Also of ebay, go for the white as there is no cost difference as it looks better than the clear stuff, can be demoulded in 15 mins or less, 1 to 1 mixture so very quick to mix and use. Results are excellent for shallow objects like buildings etc i.e flat mould type work. Minatures not so good as it did not work that well on my space chimps but that may of been the mould.

Not sure if your stateside or uk side but try these products as they are a little pricey but ease of use is fantastic, its a very good feeling to make your own stuff ;)

Regards epic
