They look like they have been worth the wait.

Yes, Van, John Treadaway and crew, made a number of prototypes in 25mm for the Slammer's author Dave Drake to approve. And these are the designs in 6mm "Official Drake Approved". Old Crow made these Drake approved designs in 25mm, 15mm and now soon to be released in 6 ! So yes they are accurate with the Slammer lore. I love'm, very crisp detail, very, very little flash. These are proto-type Samples Jez from Old Crow sent to me hence some are metal and some resin. And yes Tas, it has been a very long wait for these. So I guess Jez rewarded me, as he said in the note in the package - "Thanks for keeping the faith ! " The Slammer TF, "TF Legion", I'm going to make will give all my 6mm Forces a hard time ! Drake with his Approved models in 15mm -

Why are some metal and some resin. Did he send you the masters?

Yes, they do look great !! Very clean ! Very nicely done ! I believe some of these are proto-types or masters, that's why some are resin ... Of course, painted up they will look the same ... Plus I got 6mm Slammer decals too ...

Well 15mm are available now ... however ... I'm doing 6mm to match all my 6mm GW/FW/DRM/EW & GZG ... all I do is 6mm ! The whole line of 6mm Slammer AFVs should be be released very soon. Hmm ... wonder how my IG may fair against my Slammer TF ? They should hire them to take on Bugs, Orkses, etc. ... Imagine a BG with IG, supported by Slammers ... Probably even give SMs a run ... Imperial or Chaos !!

Well, I would imagine that even a 2cm powergun would slice through even a dreadnought's armor and that the Slammer's would be a fair sight more accurate than your run of the mill IG trooper.

Along time ago ... like '95, Jon from GZG did a "strawman" set of rules for Slammers in Dirtside II ... http://www.sfsfw.org/a/30/slam.php ... IIRC, it somewhere says that the force going toe-to-toe with the Slammers should outnumber them 3 - 1 to give them even a figthing chance !!
