Hey zap123, thanks for the response. I have some follow-up questions:

1) You pick the targets you want to shoot at. If you are firing a unit, allocate shots to whatever targets you like down to individual models/stands (multiple enemy units is fine) within firing arc and making any allowances for enemy HQ units (cant be targetted unless they are the closest). Then measure and roll to hit against those in range.
Does this mean I have to roll each unit individually?
(on a side-note: It also seems like the rulebook uses the phrases "unit" and "detachment" interchangeably. I always thought that "unit" was a stand of models, and "detachment" was a collection of "units"/stands. I could be mistaken about this, but does anyone know what I'm talking about?)zap123 wrote:
3) Yes, there are sets of dice that have 4 blank sides and up/down or left/right on the other two faces. You roll both and apply the results. Easy enough to use normal D6's and say 5 is up, 6 is down on one and well you can work that out

Really? I've never heard of these dice. I'll have to go back and look at old pictures of the backs of the SM/TL boxes, but that's odd. Good thing my FLGS just got in some blank d6s. So if I were to make these dice, I would need two d6s, and on one die I write "up" on one side and "down" on another; then on the second die I write "left" on one side and "right" on another, leaving four sides blank on each die? Do dice like this exist pre-made? I'll use the regular d6 method you mentioned at the end if I can't rig anything up by Wednesday.

4) There isn't really a suppression equivalent in NetEpic. For us they come in useful for marking damaged superheavies, and placing where tanks get brewed up for a bit of colour on the board.
That's too bad. Perhaps my group will have to rig some up once we've played a bunch of games normally, and submit it to a future issue of "incoming" or something
