Who has the best selection of planes?

Where do you get those bases?

Hi there. The game began life using the AI rules engine, and so those were the bases that were inherited due to that. They do make things easier as they have altitude and speed included. That said, there is no reason that you cant use any base that you have, and record these details with either small dice, tokens, or just writing them down.

The best selection can depend on a lot of things, including price, specific period of the war and country that you are interested in, and scale. My preference is usually Heroics and Ross, but they are UK based and so relatively easy for me to mail order in.

To start with, I would keep things to between 2-4 fighters per side, to get the hang of the mechanics.

And add to them 1 or 2 level bombers... Playing even a simple "strategic recon" mission shows a little piece of true taste of the Game - a variety and tactical challenges.
