Since the Iybraesil list was transformed into a Crone World raiding force more in keeping with it's background I've wanted to carry on the original list but with more flavor. The original Iybraesil list was viewed as being rather bland. I set about to change that. I wanted a Craftworld with a unique feel to it. So I've made several radical changes to the list.

The main points of game play difference are as follows:

1. Guardian Formations may be expanded up to 12 Guardian Units.

2. Aspect Troupes (with the exception of DA) are reduced to 4 units.

3. Dire Avenger Warhosts can be taken as 8 unit formations.

4. Every Eldar vehicle, including the Vampire Hunter and Void Spinner may be taken.

5. Autarchs or "Necarchs" are mandatory and must be added to either DA or Guardian Hosts.

6. Fire Storms are treated as transports. (This is something Chroma has been lobbying for so I went with it.)

It is extremely experimental and I invite you to offer any feedback.

Not actually "lobbying", just looking to discuss it. :D

Looking forward to see what people have to say about the new list, Malakai!

For the sake of feedback on the main epic list, I will post here what I posted on Warseer:

Quote:
The first thing I do when reviewing a list is seeing what I can buy on the cheap and how effective that is.

So I put it to you; I can make up 17 activations made up of Guardians, Night Spinners, Aspects, various Troupes and even a Raider

If I wanted to really push the point I believe I could take this army to over 20 activations

Seeing activations alone can be a game winner to a large extent, are you happy for peoplke to take these type of forces with the list? If not, you may need to look at further restrictions in the list design.

With the exception of the small aspect troupes, this is something available to the Biel Tan list as well. Will the Aspects significantly impact the viabilaty of this approach? I suspect the answer is no, though it would be good to test.

For completeness, here are my comments from Warseer.
Quote:
Several things.

First, the pedantic: "Craretakers of the Dead".

-I really like the Chains of Vaul concept, and think it should be more widely applied. It would make sense here.

-Twin Exarchs in a 4 man Aspect Troupe may be pushing it, but it's worth testing.

-Falcons are going to be reduced to +50 going forward, and this doc should reflect that, IMO. Firestorms shoud probably follow suit.

-An "Outcast Troupe" consisting of 4-8 of the following (Rangers at +25 each, War Walkers at +35 each) may be interesting.

-I've always broken the Guardian Warhost into 50pt for the Farseer, and 100 for 7 Guardians, in my head. Perhaps making the extras +50, though it would require playtesting to see of it would scale linearly.

Sorry for the double post, but I felt these were better addressed in a seperate post.

Proofreading:
In the Nechrauch entry, Bringers of Ynnead are repeatedly refered to as Dire Avenger Aspect Warhosts. Also, change it from 0-1 to 1.

Change transport options in Bringers and Aspect Troupe to "may be transported in Wave
Serpents, Falcons, and/or Firestorms if desired."

Aspect Troupe should read "In addition the troupe may include 1 Exarch character upgrade for +25 points or 2 Exarchs for +65 points." Remove the "up to".

Vampire Raider has a duplicate name in the entry.

Rules:
I can easily see Firestorm spam in this list. The Bringers can take eight Firestorms. Suggest limit of 2 for the Bringers, and limit of 1 for the Aspect Troupe.

Nechrauch added to a Guardian stand will give a Supreme Commander with no save. Adding him to a Farseer stand would make more sense, IMO, though it would give him a ton of attacks.

With the 'pure' DA formations in Core, perhaps you should exclude them from the Troupes? I say this as someone who's favorite Aspect formation is DAs with DR Exarchs. It makes sense though if the DAs are concentrated in the Bringers formations.

Overall, I think this list will give a very different game than a Biel Tan list, as the Aspects are restricted, and the beefier Guardian formations allow for more survivability. The ability to take two Exarchs in a 4 stand Aspect formation should not be underestimated. I'll make an attempt to test this soon.

From Warseer:

1. Typos need to be gone over. And I like Caretakers of the Dead. If you read the fluff you'd know why.

2.I'll look into incorporating CoV.

3.Twin Exarchs in 4 man squads was an error on my part. That will be remedied.

4.Had a talk with Chroma about that. It will be updated to reflect the new cost, along with the Firestorm.

5.That could be an interesting Troupe. Forward advance units sent to scout ahead and look for Spirit Stones.

6.I had some problems costing this unit. If I make the unit a mandatory 12 stands then I will probably reduce the price. But as you say that needs playtesting.

1. The bringers of Ynnead DA Warhost is not 0-1, it's 1 per 2 Caretakers of the Dead Warhosts.

2. Yes there are plenty of grammatical errors. They will be addressed.

3. The Guardian Necrach stand should have a save. I'll look into that. I don't want to add him to a Farseer stand.

4. I agree about limiting the DA to the Bringers Host. It was something that I had originally considered with my old list. It's probably worth more consideration now especially that the Troupes are now leveled out to 4.

5. I DO NOT want two Exarchs in a 4 unit Aspect Formation. That will be quickly remedied.

Thanks for the comments so far. Please keep them coming.

Nah - it's the Nechrauch that needs changing. It's listed as 0-1, and is mandatory.

Hmm... there does not appear to be a precedent to a character modifying the base stats on the unit he is attached to. The easiest route may be to give him the stats of a DA with Autarch upgrade. I.e. 15cm Armour 5+ CC5+ FF4+, FF EA+2, CC MW EA+1, Inspiring, Invulnerable Save, Supreme Commander. Then he replaces one of the units in the formation.

Love the name of the Caretakers, it was the typo I was pointing out. Thanks for the quick responses; will be following this thread.
