Thanks. YEah, I ended up dissolving the pigment in white spirits and then tried to wipe off most of the excess with my fingers. The army green helps tone down the turqoise so it seems a bit more natural. It works great for the back, but the front where there's a lot more fine details it does make things a bit more muddled (Hence why I sneakily only included a close up of the back :p  )

For those interested my recipe for bronze statues is as follows:

Black spray undercoat.
Tin bitz basecoat.
Drybrush brazen brass
Mix a bit of mithril silver and brass for top highlights.
Wash with Badab Black. - Leave to dry completely
Make a small pile of turqoise and army green pastel chalk and have a small cup of white spirits. Apply various mixes of the powders to the areas there you have sharp edges and wipe the excess off quickly. For flatter areas you can experiment a bit. Beware: The spirit tends to dissolve your black wash so it can be a bit tricky (though the added black to the pigment can be an advantage I guess).

Added a few more details. I think this will do for now, although there's a few things I'm not 100% happy with. However I need the pictures for NetEpic Gold now, so...
