I'm just getting into Epic, looking to start buying some Guard stuff soon. I've been reading the forum, and every other topic mentions NetEA lists and NetERC stuff and I've no idea what it all means.

I saw mention of some article on how to build proper lists for new players, do you have a link to that?

I'm currently thinking of picking up an infantry company box, 3 blisters of forgeworld chimeras, a forgeworld hydra blister, and some conquerors to be counts-ass russes and having that as the basic core of my list.

I'm really interested in siegemasters, but they seem like they're very expensive. I can always just use regular guardsmen as counts-as siege infantry, but it seems like some things like thudd guns and rapiers it'd be difficult to do so with.

Oh, that? I saw a mention of one in a post weeks before that was posted.

Basically, I'm thinking of something like this to try to aim for with my purchases. Any advice on changing stuff? I'll try to find the fire supports on ebay, or maybe some old heavy platoons. $20 for 4 stands of them seems kinda expensive.

Taking that article's advice, I dropped some things to add more fast units.

Would this work out? Without those fire supports, the price is basically the same as the other list.

Either lists looks ok to me. As you play you will find what style works best for you and amend the lists to match.

Most important thing is to get gaming and have fun.
