Epic Scenario Supplement
A. A scenario supplement is a great idea.  I'd even buy a book if it was printed. 100%  100%  [ 24 ]

Vassal could be fantastic for all sorts of playtesting. The question really is: has anyone done an Epic:A mod for Vassal and/or does anyone have the first clue how to make one?

It could be a truly fantastic resource for TacComms. We could all play Epic against each other!!

Our prayers are answered: check out (currently) the second news item from the top on vassal40k.com.   :))

Hey Chroma - I had a look at your minefields document. It's similar to what we had come up with, although it never occurred to us to give different races different types of minefield. Are the 'Concealed deployment' rules referred to in the document available? We were having some trouble coming up with a (non-clunky) way to place hidden minefields....

PM sent, by the way.

I like the minefield's too. I'd suggest going with a 2 tier cost system for marked and hidden minefields. I guess some kinda of plotting for hidden fields would work, like spaceships but you note the co-ordinates of one corner and work from there.

I think a collection of scenarios and alternate rules would be great.  We rarely play the straight Tournament rules victory conditions and would appreciate seeing other peoples ideas for scenarios.

Like others have mentioned, I too have gotten out the Epic 40K Battle Book several times and thought about converting the scenarios there to EA.  Just never gets done though.  Has anyone had any experience using the Army Moral system from E40K in EA?  I think that would be interesting.

There will be general rules for "concealment" and hidden deployment, both of formations and minefields, etc, in "Epic: Total War".

I'm all about scenario play so I'd love to see a supplement for it.  The tourney scenario is nice and exciting but as always variety is the spice of gaming and scenarios are the best way to add something to your game and put the battle in context.

Though work on most of them is *very* preliminary, I've got about *twenty* different scenarios that I'm developing for "Epic: Total War"... and there will probably be more... *laugh*

This doesn't include "historic re-fightts" yet either, but are "generic" scenarios that, for the most part, are suitable both for pick-up games and campaign play.

Well we like the Random Scenario Generation System of AT1/SM1. We swear by it ...  And the E40K Random Terrain Generation System is pretty good too ... But a well done scenario book like Raiders I'd definitely be interested in !  My 2¢ !  :D

There's to be a "random mission" generator as well...

I'm reviewing the AT1/SM1 one as well as the Epic40k "Fog of War" battle generator.

In case anyone is interested, a friend and I tried out adding Pulsa rokkits to the orks the other day (pretty much took rules right from netepic) and will be adding in hop-splat guns and shokk attacks next.

We decided to take baby steps toward the scenario mentioned previously, because while we don't intend for these to be balanced additions to the ork list (only within the context of scenarios), it'll still be nigh on impossible to tell what is unbalancing the game and what isn't if we throw it all in together.

For the record: Pulsa rokkits are hella fun, even when used against you! :)
