Thanks all!

Let me tell you, the missile pod on the back of the Specter is a pain in the butt.  The only thing holding it on right now is the floral wire I used to pin it to the back.  It fell off three times before I had enough and pinned it.  The urban camo is the scheme I'm going with for my mercs in CAV.  I can airbrush it pretty quickly and since they're my "filler" troops I'm not overly concerned with making them super high quality paint jobs.  Just enough so I'm not embarrassed to put them on the table.

Well, I've been on a bit of a hiatus lately due to quitting smoking and taking on a new job as I've mentioned before.  As it turns out, waiting for paint to dry is a big trigger for me so I had to step away.  The new job has just plain kept me busy.  Anyway, here's some CAV stuff I've finished recently and one I entered in the ReaperCon painting contest back in May.

I'll start with the recent pieces as they are just some quick "get them done" paint jobs.  First up is a pair of Nomads in a simple gray and blue parade pattern so I can swith them out with any faction force.

Next up are some infantry in shades of gray.  My latest idea for infantry team identification is that different types of infantry stands will have different color patterns.  So, armored rifle teams will be light gray with dark gray armor plate.

And to finish strong, the Kikyu I entered into the ReaperCon paint contest.  I could've sworn I'd posted this after I'd fixed the paint job.  Anyway, I actually started this the night before the con started as RL kept intruding upon me before hand.  I finished it 30 minutes before the deadline for entries.  It's a True-N scale Kikyu painted to match my wife's Terran force.  It missed 3rd place only because the dark lining wasn't quite dark enough according to Anne (Reaper's staff painter and head judge of the contest).  Unfortunately as I was taking it out of the cabinet before leaving from home it fell from my hand to the concrete floor.  The wings got bent up and the paint chipped in a couple places.  It could've been worse, but it was still painful.  So after I came back from Arizona I fixed her up and here she is...

Grand work, Sergeant - especially the flyer. Should've gotten a prize :)

Considering they were up against these:1st, 2nd, 3rd, the judges' views on painting, and the fact that it was a close decision between myself and the 3rd place contestant I'm happy.  4th is darned good for a national level contest I think.

Congrats, Sarge. :) :)

Well done, Sarge. That Kikyu sure is a cool mini. I really like the paint job you gave it.

I must admit that the Kikyu has never been a favourite of mine, but your paint job has really brought it to life.

I also really like the grey and blue scheme on the Nomads.

Another Kikyu that has been painted for a long time, just waiting for me to finish the base and a kitbash that was supposed to be a contest entry.  Didn't get the pic taken in time and decided I might as well paint it up.

Nice work on the kitbash, are those guns from the Butcher?

Nope, Warden.  Though the original plan was to use the guns from the Butcher.  They turned out to be too beefy for what I was aiming for.

Hmm, judging by the other entries I think I would have put you in second place.
