For the artwork submissions, it seems like some latitude could be shown for the image sizes.  Ex. could a 600x800 be submitted instead of 800x600?  Or a 400x1000?

600 x 800 would be fine - and that is for all categories.

400 x 1000 might be a bit strange. If someone has a wierd sized picture, let me know.

Somebody has a weird sized picture... Juddski.  I saw it.  It looks wonderful but it is long and thin.

CS/other judges, here is another commetn from juddski about the entry.
i've reduced it and lowerd the res twice on it but i'm unable to get it down to the required [75]kb so i think we'd better except defeat on that one ,thanks anyway for trying Bill

This particular piece is 370x800 +/-.  I can imagine other artists are going to have a similar problem.  Do you think this category can get a separate set of standards?  Or perhaps be allowed to link to wikiwikiwar?

Probably linking through WikiWikiWar would be best. The reason that this is not allowed generally is that uploading directly to the boards stops the picture being changed after the thread is closed. Linking from outside doesnt do this...

Still I cant see a better way of doing it, so I agree that linking from the Wiki would best. Anyone have comments?

I suppose the wiki can be checked to see if the artwork has been changed if verification is needed.

Thanks, folks.  I'll let Juddski know.  He really did a marvelous job and I think it would be a mistake not to help the artists out on this.   Could a note be put in the rules to clarify this?

I have now changed the submission procedure for the Art Category (category four). Please check the main rules thread for details. Thanks.

Just wondering for the model competitions, from thi beginning of this thread, the picture size limit has been increased, but the 75K picture limit still stands right? Or has this been increased too?

I'm trying to scale mine down but loose a bit of the picture quality for my models and I've come across one or two entries that are larger than 75k (one of mine breaking the rule too :( )

The 75Kb limit still exists. All pictures should be directly uploaded to these boards, and this enforces this condition. Any pictures that are not directly uploaded will be resized by me before being added to the voting gallery - and therefore this resizing will be done without your input.

Thanks.

I was wondering the same thing.  Last year the galleries went up and the voting started about mid-December and ended just before New Year.

I hope to have the galleries up by the end of this week... but I am signing nothing!  :D

I noticed the postings for the pics were removed.  I believe CS is tinkering with building the galleries for voting. (I can almost hear pounding of a little e-hammer from here).  :)
